Hi there,
As a current Adopter with the Adopt-a-User program there has been some ongoing developments that we would like to bring to your attention.
A new Adopter's Area has been created where you can find useful resources and other Adopter's experiences. Please feel free to add any resources you may have found useful as an Adopter, as well as recount any experiences that you think may help others. If you know of any useful resources for new users / Adoptees then you can add them here.
Also the way the adoption process works has changed slightly. To decrease workload at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user, on offering adoption please change the Adoptme template to Adoptoffer on the user's user page, and this will add the user to Category:Wikipedians having been offered adoption. Users that have already been offered adoption can always have a second or third offer, but by separating out those users that have not had an adoption offer yet, it is hoped that no one will go lacking.
Furthermore numerous Adopters have been adding their details to a list of users available for adopting, to offer a more personalised service and allow new users to browse through and pick their own Adopter. The quickest way to adopt though, is still to contact users at the Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user.
Finally - thanks for all your hard work, keep it up - and if you have any general questions or suggestions about the further development of Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User please bring them to our talk page. Cheers Lethaniol 14:00, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

That's good! I copied mine too, from the one I got. The only thing is that you should have it in userspace, to avoid taking up server space. It's easy, just click "move" at the top of the page, and in the small box, change the text to (example) "User:RyGuy/rywel". Then, whenever you're welcoming someone, do the same as with a template; in this case, it would be ("subst:" means the template will stay the same as when you added it, so it won't change if you edit it). The database will sometime temporarily lock itself. This is often done automatically and for short periods of time for maintenace reasons. Primarily, allowing slave servers to catch up to the master server. It is really annoying but resolves itself quickly. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 17:23, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Give it a wait, you need to be pretty experienced to pass a RFA, and if you had to ask me...people will oppose just for that. So basically just give it some time, adminship is not a goal or trophy, and you have to ask yourself "do I really need the tools.". Well anyway I wish you good luck on whatever you decide to do, hopefully everything is going good for you. Cheers! ~ Arjun 14:37, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Hey buddy, I would hate to see you leave Wikipedia for good. Wikipedia is a better place with you here, I read what you said on your page, may I suggest a wikibreak. Just take a break from Wikipedia and tend to your real life and when you stress cools down then you can come back. But it is up to you, just a reminder...we all will miss you. ~ Arjun 18:46, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

I noticed you asked Arjun to block someone; I don't think he'll be on until this afternoon (he usually isn't). Instead of asking an admin you know for a block, you should go to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, (shortened to WP:AIV). Also, after reporting users, don't tell the vandals they were reported (that just makes them want to go out and do more damage before they are blocked). By the way, I like those big warnings; it must be intimidating to find one of those on your talk page. :-) · AO Talk 13:49, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for reverting the vandilism on my page, though I have no idea who that person is...I think it has something to do with my reverting their edits on the AFI Top 100 Villans and Heroes article. Gavin Scott 00:09, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi, your anti-vandalism work is appreciated, but I think the template you used at User talk:24.39.224.218 might be a little over the top. If nothing else, can you make sure any template messages you leave are spelt correctly (hint: "you" should be "your"). Thanks – Qxz 13:44, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi don't be worried about Riana's page, once she comes out of inactivity then you can offer to put it back up. She just needs a break for personal reasons. Hey but the template that you created is awesome; I have noticed that you are very good at wiki-markup which is not an easy thing thats for sure! Oh and about my page; I deleted it and added two simple userboxes for personal/security reasons. I hope you can understand. Its just that there are "certain people" that want to cause harm to people; and I just want to keep my identity as basic as possible on Wikipedia. Please consider reducing the size of your signature. In particular the tag <font face="Edwardian Script ITC" size="5">

Hi, thanks for your interest in my advertising box! Just one small suggestion - could you possibly transclude the template (using ) rather than copying the code to your userpage? The main reason for this is that I'm constantly changing the selection of ads; I've nearly doubled the number of ads in rotation since you copied the code, and I'm adding more all the time; anyone not transcluding the template will miss out. I think people who have requested ads will appreciate it if 'their' ad shows up in every version of the box, and I've set up an information page which is now linked from the template. It's also nice to be consistent, and it helps me track who's using it. Thanks – Qxz 21:23, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi Qxz! I think your ads are a great idea to promote wikiprojects and other such things. I was wondering if you could make one for Concordia. I would have made the animation, but unfortunately my computer doesn't have the neccisary program (whatever it may be). Again, thanks for the ads! Ry Guy 15:13, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi. Sorry, but I think your customized user warnings are a little, um, loud and obnoxious. Perhaps it would be best to just stick with the standardized warnings agreed upon by the community. Thanks. -- ZimZalaBim ( talk) 21:56, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Actualy, I am going to put you in charge of making a temporary policy. All I want to add is one, "ignore all rules". The rest of the temp policies and guidlines are totaly up to you. The reason you will not be the leader is because I do not want one leader, I want the community to run the project. Answer on my wikipedia talk page please. Congratulations! That place looks terrible! Good luck fixing it up. (By the way, you should propose this page for deletion, as it doesn't make any sense.) That place makes me want to edit it, but it's best that I leave it alone, otherwise it might look too complicated. :-) | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 20:36, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Okay, well, since you are an admin, I wanted your opinion. I'll give it some time then. Thanks! Ry Guy Sign Here! My Journal 14:45, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Oh, it's been a long time since I've used Wikipedia (I'm back in school again). So I've decided to check out your user page. As a side note, you've misspelled my name "Freiddy" on the front page. I've noticed that you've been really stressed these days. I'm sorry for your cat. I hope you can read this, since you said your computer crashed... -- Freiddy 13:20, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
I almost forgot, your monobook.js & monobook.css have start working properly now. Reason: because I started using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer 7. -- Freiddy 13:21, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Well, maybe you won't have to earn $120 if you get a new one with Vista... :-) · AndonicO Talk 22:46, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
It's been a week since my recent request for adminship passed, and since I haven't managed to delete the Main Page - yet - I figure it's safe to send these out.

That's fine with me. :) I pronounce it slightly differently, but I know some US states would pronounce it exactly as you say. I don't mind if you flip the pronounciation, then add th before every vowel, and then add half the alphabet... as long as you still spell it the same. :) · AO Talk 17:10, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

However I am still the nice, friendly guy named Arjun, and if you ever need a friend I am always available. Hope life is well. Cheers! ~ Arjun 15:35, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Please consider reducing the size of your signature. In particular the tag <font face="Edwardian Script ITC" size="5">
is making it appear 2-3 times as large as the surrounding text. Since you are calling a non-standard font, anyone missing the font gets a generic font, but extra large.

It would probably be better like this: Ryan Got something to say?
The wikicode for that is: <font face="Papyrus">Ryan </font><font face="Comic Sans MS" size="1">Got something to say? · AO Talk 14:34, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
<font face="Papyrus">Ryan</font><font face="Comic Sans MS">Got something to say?
Does it work like that? · AO Talk 15:53, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
It seems as if Seven of Nine is starting to get a bit out of control. He has been rude quite a bit lately. I have given him one warning so far, every time he is rude warn him. Give him 2 more and after that if he is rude it is clear he is there to troll and we can block him for a week. Have a nice week and god bless :) -- James, La gloria è a dio 22:23, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Peace :) -- James, La gloria è a dio 02:36, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
