Jersey Politics

My main interest is in Jersey and especially in the area of Politics in which I took my degree.

I am not a member of any political party or pressure group; though know members from many local political groups through my position at the St Helier Parish Hall. As such I offer the neutral POV in this increasingly controversial area of wikipedia.

Priority List

  • 1. Complete List_of_politicians_in_Jersey for other ten parishes.
  • 2. Expand section on parochial activity
  • 3. Complete entries for all current Jersey Ministers and other major political figures

The Parish System

It is another mission of mine to explain the mysterious Jersey Parish System to both residents of Jersey and the wider world.

Marking pages for deletion.

Just a word of advice: when marking pages for deletion use the text {{db-nonsense}} rather than {{db|nonsense}}. It puts them into a specific category for nonsense pages. Bart133 (t) (c) 23:44, 7 July 2007 (UTC) reply

White people

Hello. I think your proposed addition to white people is really good. And I'm also curious about the source of this:

Eurasians are futher divided into four distinguishable genetic groups:

  • Aryan Indian/ Middle East
  • Caucasus (Slavs)
  • South European (Greco-Roman and Phonecian)
  • North European (British/Irish/Germans/Basques/Scandanavians)

Is it: "Trace Your Roots with DNA: Use Your DNA to Complete Your Family Tree by Megan Smolenyak & Ann Turner ISBN:1-59486-006-8" ? KarenAER 15:03, 14 July 2007 (UTC) reply

Well it's slightly more complicated than that and is to do with specific Mitochondrial DNA and Y Haloptypes and the tendencies of a person in an area to have a particular mtDNA or Y-Haloptype. I'll dig out some online references, there are a few more; first place I saw it was on a BBC/Discovery Channel program which was testing the DNA of people who thought they were as British as British could be and they then proved that they weren't necessarily as British as they thought. Bear with me. RichardColgate 12:07, 25 July 2007 (UTC) reply

I have nominated Category:Partisan Newspapers for deletion. You may wish to oppose. Man vyi 13:22, 23 July 2007 (UTC) reply

Jersey Politicians Pages

Some very good work there, and keeping pretty neutral. If you want some extra reference for citations, the JEP archive news at www.thisisjersey.com can be useful.

I've had a very brief skim, and will put a few notes on the approrate policitians pages. -- TonyinJersey 07:22, 25 July 2007 (UTC) reply
