Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Zefr ( talk) 23:25, 20 July 2024 (UTC) reply

Hi Zefr, I wish to humbly apologize for deviating from the accepted writing style. Editing an article on Wikipedia was part of an assignment and in my rush to meet the deadline I somehow missed the manual of style. Regrettably, I restructured the definition because I was unable to find a credible source to which I could attach the existing one. I restructured some sentences because they were direct quotes with no citation attached and inserted missing citations to other areas of the text. Please accept my sincerest apology. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Food safety, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Also see MOS:LEAD. Zefr ( talk) 23:26, 20 July 2024 (UTC) reply
