Background Sandya Institute is a non-governmental organization focusing on three streams: peacebuilding, counter-violent extremism and human rights advocacy. [1]. Sandya Institute is founded by Diovio Alfath in 2014 [2]. Sandya Institute is an organization member of the United Nations SDSN Youth Network since 2016 [3].

1. Sunrise Refugee Learning Center
Sandya Institute initiated Sunrise Refugee Learning Center focusing on empowerment of asylum seekers and refugees through education

Besides Sunrise Refugee Learning Center, Sandya Institute along with Indonesia Civil Society Network for Refugee Rights Protection (SUAKA), in partnership with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Jesuit Refugee Services (JRS), Church World Services (CWS) along with Dompet Dhuafa organized the World Refugee Day in Jakarta

As part of the soft-launching of Sunrise Refugee Learning Center, a Solidarity Concert and Soft Launching of Sunrise Refugee Learning Center was held where various groups attended from refugees, prominent NGOs and celebrities [12] [13] [14] [15]
2.Research One of Sandya Institute’s projects include research of Sunda Wiwitan in Cigugur, Kuningan, there are values of local wisdom used by the community to internalize the values of peace [16]. During the research, Sandya Institute was present on the Seren Taun event, where an old Javenese poetry was performed called kidung which promotes the value of peace [17].
3. Advocacy Office of the Presidential Staff or Kantor Staf Presiden invites young people to take part in the national development agenda through 2030 Youth Force Indonesia held in Jakarta, 11th August 2017 </ref> [18]. The involvement of youth groups begins with problem identification, outlining problems of the provinces and sectors, and empowering community groups around the scope of work of each NGO to monitor the development, as well as assisting the government in understanding the problems </ref> [19]. The event of Youth Force Indonesia involves 37 NGOs including Sandya Institute, an NGO that helps refugees in the area of education /ref> [20].
