I noticed this article from a couple of days ago. Can you verify what is said through the use of reliable sources? You might take a look at WP:V and WP:RS. This is very important. JodyB talk 02:03, 7 June 2007 (UTC) reply

Ok, a couple of things:
  1. The two external links are identical although the address is different the content is the same. One probably needs to go. Neither can count as a reliable source since it is not independent of the firm which he owns.
  2. The link to the Ireland Law Society is reliable I guess but it only establishes that he is an attorney/solicitor.
  3. The article makes no assertion of notability. In other words, what has he done that makes him special. Lawyers are a dime a dozen, so are people with a master's degree. What you need is something that sets him apart from all the other attorneys. It is that material which must be well sourced from multiple, non-trivial sources. Take a close look at WP:RS and WP:V again. Also, review WP:N. I'm sure this guy is a good person and probably a heck of an attorney but he needs be notable too. The reason is that we (wikipedia) aims to be more than just a collection of information. You might look and see what coverage he has had in the major newspapers in the area. Such might meet the notability test.
  4. I notice that this is the only article you have worked on. May I ask what your relationship is to the subject?

I have removed the unreferenced tag from the article. I will check back in a week or so and see how you've done. If nothing changes I think we will have to suggest it be deleted. In the meantime, I am happy to help you with any questions you may have. If he is indeed notability we want him to have his place here. Thanks! JodyB talk 14:29, 11 June 2007 (UTC) reply

Hi,
In relation to your comment on Declan J. O'Connell, I have placed a reference to the Law Society of Ireland. I trust that this is what is required.
Many thanks,

A tag has been placed on Declan J. O'Connell, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Declan J. O'Connell is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{ hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Declan J. O'Connell saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions.

I notice that you have recreated and reposts the article without providing any real claim to notability. Thus I have tagged it as a repost. As far as I'm concerned JodyB's questions above are still outstanding. Blowdart 13:16, 10 September 2007 (UTC) reply
