Welcome!

Hello, RAVNAerospace, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Ravn Aerospace, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! help request

Hello! I do in fact work for RAVN and I changed inaccurate information. I would hate to see this get removed. Who can I talk to for help regarding this? RAVNAerospace ( talk) 20:30, 10 July 2024 (UTC) reply

Before you can make any edit requests, you need to repair the initial problem: you have created a username that violates our username policy and you have made edits on a page where you had an - at that time - undisclosed conflict of interest. Please follow the instructions in your block notice regarding the {{ unblock-spamun}} template for changing your username and becoming unblocked. — jmcgnh (talk)  (contribs) 20:45, 10 July 2024 (UTC) reply

July 2024

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jauerback dude?/ dude. 20:37, 10 July 2024 (UTC) reply
Hi, I work for RAVN Aerospace and the information on our company page is wrong. I would like to change the misleading information since we have had people reach out to us regarding that information. Please let me know how to proceed. RAVNAerospace ( talk) 20:45, 10 July 2024 (UTC) reply
Your first action needs to be to request a new username. See the message above for the template to use to make that request, and including your desired username. Remember, it needs to represent you as an individual. — C.Fred ( talk) 20:48, 10 July 2024 (UTC) reply
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).

Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please place {{subst:Unblock on hold-notification | 1=RAVNAerospace}} on the administrator's talk page. Then replace this template with the following:

Please select an option from [[Wikipedia:Changing username]] and file a request as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}} with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after "decline=", a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=anap.guerrerol | reason=I am trying to unblock my account to make changes to my company page. There is inaccurate information on it which is already causing problems with people reaching out to us. they cite our wikipedia page but since the information is not up-to-date, then it gives the wrong impression | decline={{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}

When one becomes available, an administrator will evaluate your unblock/rename request. Please be patient, as there is a long queue of unblock requests. The process could take anywhere from several days to several weeks.

In the meantime, please review Wikipedia's guide on conflicts of interest and policy on paid editing, both of which apply to you because you intend to edit the article about your employer. Please also note that your company has no right of ownership or control over the article about it. We strive for accuracy, but information about topics on Wikipedia must be cited to reliable and independent sources; we have no interest in what a company wishes to say about itself.

If you are unblocked, then you should avoid directly editing the article about your company. Instead, you should become familiar with the procedure to make edit requests, which is the recommended way for you to suggest changes that can be reviewed by independent editors. -- Drm310 🍁 ( talk) 21:08, 16 July 2024 (UTC) reply

I understand that you have no interest in what a company wishes to say about itself however, the name of the founder is inaccurate as well as the type of aircraft we own. These are very important facts that should be changed. Can you please tell me what your reliable and independent sources for the current information are? Also, if you let me know what sources you need I would be more than happy to provide them so we can remedy this situation. RAVNAerospace ( talk) 14:49, 17 July 2024 (UTC) reply
OK, for basic facts and figures, then a primary source like a company website may be considered acceptable. Again, if you're unblocked, leaving an edit request on the article's talk page is the way to do it.
The sources for the article are listed in the References section. I'm not totally familiar with the all of the publications listed, but they appear to be a mix of broadsheet newspapers and military magazines. If you want to know how Wikipedia defines a reliable source, then try this link: Wikipedia:Reliable sources. To see a list of some of the most commonly discussed sources and Wikipedia's evaluation of their reliability, try this link: Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources. -- Drm310 🍁 ( talk) 15:16, 17 July 2024 (UTC) reply
