hi Quebec99 - just a warning that I reverted a few of your recent changes because you removed the end spaces in HTML_element#Void_elements. I don't know how strictly this is required in mediawiki source code, but it's probably better to follow the standard.
I don't have any arguments against the removal of the other spaces - for editing of a reference, I usually, using emacs, do a generic replace of the pipe symbol to include an end-of-line, and then remove the end-of-line's after editing. Boud ( talk) 17:24, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

hi there @ Quebec99: I have been a recent contributor to the Andrew Hastie (politician) article and I note you've placed it in the "Fix duplicate ref names" category. I've gone and checked that out. It sounds like the problem is there's a lot of references have the same extended citation, where, really, all but one reference should have a shortened format. (I'm still trying to work out what <ref name="foo" /> means, and how I'd do that, but I just wanted to see if I've understood what the issue is first.)
