The Core Contest—Wikipedia's most exciting contest—returns again this year from April 15 to May 31. The goal: to improve vital or other core articles, with a focus on those in the worst state of disrepair. Editing can be done individually, but in the past groups have also successfully competed. There is £300 of prize money divided among editors who provide the "best additive encyclopedic value". Signups are open now. I kindly request you to unblock my IP address because there are no reasons to block my access; I have never made any edits to any Wikipedia articles, and my current Wikipedia profile is the only one registered about a week ago. Hi there, thanks for your ongoing review of my GA nomination. Thank you for bringing the Dexterto reliability concerns to my attention, I was not aware of this.
There are 9 Dexerto articles cited as far as I can tell, and if I had to guess I'd say that 20% of the article's prose rely on these citations. For this reason, I think it is fair to say that the article is "a long way" from meeting Criterion 2. As per the GA review instructions, you may quickfail an article without completing the review if It is a long way from meeting any one of the six good article criteria
.
I am writing this message because you indicated that you are new to GA reviewing. If I were in your position, I would probably quickfail this article due to the Dexerto problems you brought up. If, for example, I have to remove 20% of the article's prose because there are no other reliable sources to support it, then that makes the review much more difficult. It is my hope that you continue to add valuable feedback so I can improve the article as best as I can in the future, but you are more than welcome to quickfail the article now. I really appreciate the feedback you've already given! Mokadoshi ( talk) 18:11, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
