Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. -- MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 21:08, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Aleksandr Sergeevič Višnevskij, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Expedition ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

at first let me congratulate you on your fine work at the List of deepest caves (LDC) wikipedia article! I worked, since November 2018, intermittently, on improving the LDC when it had only 13 entries and I came to version 38 of the new LDC, till the depth of 1300 m (you reached much furter, till 1252 m), at the end of April this year, but did not finish or publish it. I hope to put this work to use, in a dialogue with you, some time later this year. A few changes I already made in my last contribution, most notable being the moving of all the references to their own chapter. Višnevskij cave received a lot of attention on Internet, mostly in sensation-prone news releases, but very few articles by the explorers, virtually none in English. Even the figure given in my explanation of changes made to LDC, 1158 m, was too optimistic. I made some deeper checks and the most reliable figure is given in the entry of the Russian cave registry - speleoatlas.ru, of caves in Russia and adjacent countries where Russian cavers are also involved. The entry [3] states that the Višnevskij cave depth is 1131 m. The value of 1151 m, used in the English page of the explorers' web site [4] will be corrected to 1131 m very soon. Bob Gulden's list [5] often lacks proper reference in the Source column, sometimes it is just an e-mail from someone who does not respond to inquiries or a web site which does not exist. Depth of Višnevskij cave will hopefully increase this August [6] Amitiés. PJakopin ( talk) 09:07, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

Please note that sandbox pages are not allowed to be filed in mainspace categories alongside articles. Your sandbox page must stay out of any categories so long as it's still in your sandbox, and may have categories added to it only after the content has been moved into mainspace. As I've already had to remove your sandbox page from categories four times, please do not readd it to categories again. Thanks. Bearcat ( talk) 13:35, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
