Cleopatra the Alchemist

Hey there. Thank you for the message. Cleopatra the alchemist is a difficult figure. She makes an appearance in a bunch of textbooks as an early example of a woman in science. Truth is though "Cleopatra" is just a character in the text... not the author. We give the author that name as a sort of convenience. There's nothing to say that the anonymous author was a woman. (And "science" might be a bit of a stretch for "her" brand of alchemy.) There's a section in Linden's alchemy ready if you want to know more. Hope this helps.
