Pomona Envisioning the Future

I reverted your edit because Magee was the lead artist on the actual creation of the mural. I did, though, add content to the intro about how the project came together... including Judy Chicago's role.– CaroleHenson ( talk) 17:51, 21 May 2024 (UTC) reply

That is not correct. Magee did not envision or design the mural. The concept, money, planning, organization of materials and people came from Judy Chicago and Cheryl Bookout. Magee was just one of many, many painters because he lived locally at the time. The actual article states this along with all the references and notes section. In fact Chicago and the owner of the building Tessier told Magee to stop painting the mural after the project was finished for liability and artistic issues. The lone reference which states Magee was the lead artist was taken from false statements made by Magee alone or Magee as a sock puppet. Ref 8 no longer exists, neither do a few others. Also see the note on the article which clarifies who were the lead artists of the project and mural. In one reference Magee also took credit for 100 other murals he said he designed and painted. Those were all designed and made by Debra English and painted by many, many painters for Whole Foods and Bristol Farms. They were all photos made per English's designs, projected on a wall and filled in color by number style. Some of those were scanned copyrighted postcards copied onto the wall. The photos used were owned and copyrighted by other people. Magee's name is nowhere on those murals. Notthatbobtheotherbob ( talk) 18:39, 21 May 2024 (UTC) reply
