im new to wikipedia what can i do?

I suggest just starting to read articles -- if you see something wrong, or poorly written, then go ahead and fix it. You can also read the links above for some tips. -- Haemo 01:30, 23 June 2007 (UTC) reply

what type of articles should i read?

Whatever interest you -- or you can just hit the "random" button to your left, and go with whatever. You should sign your posts on this page, though. -- Haemo 01:36, 23 June 2007 (UTC) reply

You need to sign posts so that people know that it was you that made the post. That way, they can respond to your post. Andrew_pmk | Talk 01:43, 23 June 2007 (UTC) reply

Hi! Nonononoyes, You can request answers in real time with IRC. Wikipedia has an IRC channel (chat room) for asking questions about it. If you want to join, you can go to java.freenode.net, put "Nonononoyes" in the "Nickname" textbox, and "wikipedia-en-help" in the "Channel" textbox. Then, click "Connect", and you can type questions, get answers, and communicate with other Wikipedians. Gracenotes T § 01:56, 23 June 2007 (UTC) reply

The first thing to do is to go to a "channel", or a "chat room". You can do that how I described above. Once you're there, you will see a textbox at the bottom of the screen. If you type into the textbox and hit "Enter", what you put in the textbox will be sent to the channel. This means that everyone will see it. When anyone sends text to the channel, everyone in that channel can see it.

This may seem a bit complicated, but you can think if it like Instant Messaging for more than two people. The best way to do it is to try it :) Gracenotes T § 02:06, 23 June 2007 (UTC) reply

Notability of John Kim (lad)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on John Kim (lad), by Kwsn ( talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because John Kim (lad) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting John Kim (lad), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate John Kim (lad) itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. -- Android Mouse Bot 2 04:23, 25 June 2007 (UTC) reply
