Hey, Nawlin, can you please refain from vandalising my discussion page? I'd appreciate it! :-) 01/09/06
In response to the message you left on my page, it is not my fault that Professor Gubby just happens to have the exact same life history as this 'Eric Thomas' who, by the way, I have never heard of before. Also, calling peoples names 'silly nicknames' is simply ignorant; there are some names from various other cultures around the world that SOME narrow -minded people may dismiss as 'silly', but just because they sound unusual to you, it makes them no less important. I have also scanned through your discussion page, and it seems I'm not the only person annoyed by your 'trigger-happy' editing skills. I thought wikipedia was a free encyclopedia that ANYONE can edit? So-called 'grammar-nazis' like yourself have no place anywhere free speech is allowed. If my page is not undeleted soon, I will consider further action...

Hi Nawlin, I read requirements and posted information about Long Island Pizza Festival & Bake-Off please review. I wikified some terms and added categories. I am unable to link the reference on the LongIsland.com page about the pizza festival to the page, can you do this or send instructions on how to do this. Also, the categories, does it automatically index the page and place the appropriate link on the category page, or do I need to do this manually. Please reveiw and ok the page before I spend time linking to relevant pages. If any problems with the article, please post on my talk page. Thank you! LongIsland.com 15:06, 21 July 2006
Hi Nawlin - I am creating a page for an annual non-profit event that takes place on Long Island, NY. I would like to link this to the Long Island NY general page that has info about food, specifically pizza and I would also like to link it to my page that provides a definition of our Web site. I am planning to keep it brief and informative. Am I doing something wrong already? Please advise. LongIsland.com 22:29, 20 July 2006

Actually an article can consist of a picture because it's considered a reference. That's why there are so many in wikipedia with only a picture. lilnessaslove
I think the category in which they are under should be pretty self explainatory on why they are notable. If I find to do a biography on each one, then I will do so. As of now, in many cases people like to associate a face with a name, which I'm helping them do. lilnessaslove
These celebrities are listed under Blasian Musicians. That is why they are notable. No matter what category you go to, there is always information floating around that wasn't mentioned in the article and you could easily find by doing research elsewhere. This is no different. lilnessaslove

Hi, I think the grounds for deletion of the "Curbsy" article are unfounded, i planned to build a collection of information on classic street games, which, are enjoyed by many young people in the UK, i chose Wikipedia to do this as i saw it as an unbiased place where one may, post information on topics which interest them and may interest others, you have tainted my view of this by so quickly attacking my 'simple' wiki. -- Monk456 23:22, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
Just wondering what the point is of reverting the ‘I’m So Tired’ page back to its original content when the detail that is on this page is both inaccurate and without any citation to support the points made. If you have evidence to back up the point about the change in pronunciation of the word “git” then fair enough but without it this comment remains an unqualified statement.
Please respond.
Thanks,
" Pepperstool 15:38, 31 July 2006 (UTC)"
Ok, that's fair enough. I think you're probably right about the Raleigh bit too. Three things that I think you should bare in mind though:
1) "get" is a Northern word and slang for "git" and therefore likely to have been used from the start rather than as a substitute
2) A quick listen to the Esher demos should hopefully give an indication as to whether this was altered in the studio, during the demoing or not at all. (I can't remember off the top of my head how Lennon pronounces the word on the demo but I'll listen to it tonight to find out).
3) If Lennon had originally used the word "git" instead of "get" then this line would not scan as a rhyming couplet. The words Lennon chooses to set up the final rhyme are "upset" and "cigarette". Neither of these words rhyme with "git" leading me to believe that it was never "git" or an attempt to fool the censors.
Sorry to be so pedantic.
Thanks for your response though. Good luck with the citation.

Dear NawlinWiki: I move your material on the film "America: From Freedom to Fascism" from the Aaron Russo article to the article on the film. Pretty interesting! Thanks for finding this stuff (Russo's personal tax problems and the clarification about his film being show "at" Cannes when it was really on the beach at Cannes!). I personally believe the information hits even harder when placed in the article on the film.
By the way, I'm just curious -- how did you happen to come upon this information so quickly? Do you subscribe to New York Times stuff by email? Yours, Famspear 16:13, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi, in the Mountain High section, I linked to their web videos on their site. How is that giving myself a plug? The first time it was to my site, then I changed it so it went to theirs. I didn't even mention I was the person who made them.
Hey, I noticed that you tagged this article for WP:CSD G4 as a recreation of deleted material. CSD G4 only applies to articles deleted through the XfD process (think AfD, RfD, etc.). A lot of people don't realize (including some admins), so it's a fairly common error. I changed your tag to CSD G1 (which it is). Best Regards, alphaChimp laudare 04:52, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
I've redirected pages before. I opted not to redirect this one as the spelling is incorrect. It's "Zack", not "Zak". I would have redirected had I known that spelling errors were OK. Thanks for the heads up about adding an unauthorized warning at the head of the page. I have instead added to the article without removing parts of, or altering, the page itself. I would however disagree that the nature of the article excuses it's lack of NPOV. It is, after a moments perusal, terribly biased. While you or I may be able to distinguish this fact, and the absurd nature of Troy's claims, all readers may not be so well equipped. Ideally, shouldn't Wikipedia aspire to reflect reality, not simply the collective opinions of whomever has the most time to edit a page? As someone who has clearly devoted a great deal of time to such editing, I would urge you to consider the encyclopedic nature of wikipedia, and recgonize that citing imagined sources and the like, while maintaining the fiction of authenticity, does not lend the article real credence.
That said, I am new, and you were right about the warning I placed. For that you have my thanks. I hope that if I write an article you'll be as firm an advocate for it as you are for others, should it compky with Wikipedia's style and mission. Thanks
Algernon
Was that a userpage when I speedied it? I'm almost certain that I found it as an article.-- Anthony.bradbury 21:27, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
What happened is that she created a self bio article Najeedah, I tagged it for db-bio, but mistyped it, and was trying to change it and add a userfy tag. At the same time User:Anthony.bradbury was trying to db-bio it, and at the same time you moved it from the article to the user page and copied the tags with it. You then went and removed the db-bio tags that you though had been added incorrectly to the User page. That whole thing left behind a redirect on Najeedah which was tagged as being empty, then someone came and changed that since in fact it was not empty, but a redirect. What a glorious set of confusion. -- Brat32 21:31, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Just a remark out of the blue: Why are you not an admin? You make great contributions to WP, you do excellent work on articles, you have barnstars protruding from every orifice of your Wikipedian body, you fight vandalism, you vote in XfDs, you have thousands upon thousands of edits (over 2000 in August alone!), and yet you're not a sysop. So, for lack of a better question... what's the deal? Were you nominated, but declined the nom? This is just one man's opinion, but I think you'd be a superbly excellent (superbly wonderfully excellent?) administrator. -- Kicking222 16:46, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

No I have not been to Srinagar, but I can guarantee that its nothing compared to the Big Easy. Apart from obvious terrorism, Srinagar and most of India suffers from increasing deforestation, pollution and global warming. And the intense population density is not attractive either. The natural wonders are slowly but visibly dying.
Last December I had come to see the damage and try some free-lance journalism of sorts. But I was amazed at how, even though the suburbs were devastated, the French/Latin Quarter and sea front remained so beautiful. The architecture and free-ness of the city was absolutely cool - one can get lost and not have the desire to find the way back. The food was astounding. Despite all the devastation, the people were very friendly and high-spirited. The only snag was that I had to sit in a bar with a cold coke and not a beer or whiskey. That, and the relative absence of the opposite sex.
A city and its people's true character is revealed in such times of recovery from adversity. New York had shown amazing spirit post-9/11, but it was more of an American spirit, shared by most people across the nation. New Orleans has fought this battle by itself. I do not understand why you removed my article on the Squidarita. This is a term and item that has gained some popularity in various locations, and as I helped create this hype, I wanted to explain the history, recipe, and some of the places where I know it has been used. What about that post was invalid? I am tired of explaining what this is to people, and it seemed like a good entry here. LeahCunningham 19:14, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
I would agree with you only if a) any of what was in there made sense, but it doesn't. "a destraction from the Talmud"? "axiomatically square"? These things simply do not make sense in any context; and b) this content has never been in the article before, nor has it ever been discussed. Furthermore, it's going to take 2 more rvs to get to a 3RR violation, and I doubt that will happen in the required timespan. MSJapan 21:18, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Hey, I saw you voted on this, so I decided to ask you. In total, there were 7 votes, all of which said Keep. I think that the AfD is complete, and the result is Keep.
The AfD discussion is two days old now, and I doubt anyone else would add votes to switch sides.
I don't know if there's a certain process to request an admin to remove an AfD for an article, so if I am doing something wrong, please tell me.

It's not a matter of content; the topic asserts no relevancy or notability at all. I did a web search for it and actually found it. Hi NawlinWiki
Spurtnip is a slang word that originated from East Anglia. Becuase it is undefined, I have tried to define it, obviously, with a humourous tone, but it is still a valid definition.
Could you explain how this could "pass" as a definition.

Hi,
Just wondering what the point is of reverting the ‘I’m So Tired’ page back to its original content when the detail that is on this page is both inaccurate and without any citation to support the points made.

Hey, I noticed that you tagged this article for WP:CSD G4 as a recreation of deleted material. CSD G4 only applies to articles deleted through the XfD process (think AfD, RfD, etc.).

You're now an admin. Have fun using the new tools to help make this a better place. Use them conservatively, especially at first, and re-read the relevant policy before acting. As you get comfortable dig in and help out with the backlogs. Again congrats! - Taxman Talk 10:44, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Just thought I'd like to immortalise these precious fragments from Special:Log:
This might get you the record for fastest time from sysopment to first admin action. :P Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 11:18, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Congratulations on your promotion, and you're very welcome! -- Merovingian - Talk 12:18, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Well done on your promotion! Please ask if you need any assistance. (aeropagitica) (talk) 12:36, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Yo Nawlins, congratulations. I meant to support on your RfA but I didn't realize it was closing so soon! (I guess I've been spending so much time reading up on policy since I got my new shiny buttons.) Doesn't matter, you passed with flying colors. Good luck and congrats again. --- Deville ( Talk) 13:40, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Congrats, my friend. I knew it'd be an easy ride! You absolutely deserve the mop, and now that you've got it, I'm sure you will use it to heroically fight the forces of evil. It was my honor to be a small part of this victorious triumph. Though I have no interest in ever being an admin, feel free to "return the favor" by being the best damned admin there ever was, thus making me look incredibly smart in hindsight. :) -- Kicking222 11:11, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Many congratulations! And best wishes to you and your family on the 1st anniversary of Katrina. I love New Orleans! - best city in the world. Have a Blast! Rama's arrow 13:16, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

I would like to add my congratulations despite the fact I opposed. Good luck with the future editing and thanks for your generous comment on my talk page. David D. (Talk) 04:46, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Good work! And in response to your thank-you message, no prob, Bob. Glad to lend my support to those I feel deserve it. Block some vandals for me, would you? Thanks. ;-) Heimstern Läufer 05:53, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
But I have not created it. The article was created as a result of a Carter Hall (comics) move. Haven't you checked the article's history? — Lesfer (t/ c/ @) 01:30, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the information. I'll go back and try and fix any mistakes I may have made with that. As for my motive: I'm trying to combat the enormous amount of articles that are proposed deletes that could easily qualify as speedy deletes. mwazzap 02:33, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
hello. i'm somewhat new to wikipedia, so i may not be familiar with all the rules. i notice that nawlinwiki deleted an article i started, which was titled "mark a. coker."
i want to know: 1. why was this article deleted? and, 2. how can i avoid having my articles deleted in the future?
thanks. (posted by Jcoetzee on 8/26/2006)
There seems to be a bit of a problem. You didn't have a closing bracket on it, so, therefore, all following messages are being included within your blue RfA box. I saw this when someone posted on my talk page after you. I just thought you should know. Michael 06:14, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Make sure to include |} which closes table(s) or the layout. I've fixed your layout on people's talk pages that these |}'s were missing. -- ADNghiem501 09:20, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
That is one of my own user pages and the talk page was started accidently as you can clearly see in its history. -- Ionius Mundus 15:08, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks - this one didn't seem to be going anywhere sensible - just think it is corp promotion and little else. Regards -- Nigel ( Talk) 16:55, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
What should be done with an article like this? It gives me an uncomfortableness, but I don't know what to do to make it better. -- Merope 20:55, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Apparently you beat me to the Genie-related business. Good job. Never heard of that other name, either - Skysmith 21:40, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for correcting the British spelling. WVhybrid 22:41, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

List of Celebrities who have Killed People: just starting up this list; Matthew Broderick was legit as it mentions in his entry. Laura Bush is also legit (I was going to add this reference:
http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/e1698.htm) I will re-add this page but with more content. Why did you classify as an A6 attack?

It's not a matter of content; the topic asserts no relevancy or notability at all. I did a web search for it and actually found it. Whomever is editing it needs to rework it completely for encyclopedic quality. It also needs independent sources that establish notability. - CobaltBlueTony 19:30, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

For what it's worth, the article Goombo which you changed from speedy to prod ... your prod and advert tags were simply removed without any changes or corrections to the problem. I reverted and the tag's back on, with a prod2 from me. Thought you'd like to know. Akradecki 04:41, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Ahhh, I didn't realize the article for this AFD was a symptom of an ongoing problem. Thanks for catching it. — Wknight94 ( talk) 14:20, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi NawlinWiki
Spurtnip is a slang word that originated from East Anglia. Becuase it is undefined, I have tried to define it, obviously, with a humourous tone, but it is still a valid definition.
Could you explain how this could "pass" as a definition.
Many thanks
Mark
Just wondering why my page on the famous Crane Kick was deleted, I don't understand why.
