Yeah, I, being the responsible person, will have to apologize all the vandalism coming from here. Please understand that this is all coming from school, and thus, is shared throughout my entire district. I understand your concerns for all the vandalism coming from this page, but it's not coming from all one person. Thus, I beg that you do not ban this IP from editing, since there are students who have made productive edits.

G'day Naconkantari,
I recently deleted an article you'd tagged as speedy. While the article was a clear candidate for speedying, the edit where you added the tag was marked as minor. The "minor edit" feature was intended for when you do really minor stuff, like correcting a typo or adding a space. It's not intended for when you tag articles for deletion which, let's face it, is about as major an edit as you can get. Cheers, fuddlemark ( fuddle me!) 04:49, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
I have apparently misunderstood the external-link policy. I did not see in it any outright ban on linking to my own site, only a note that "external links should support the content of the article, not replace it." I very carefully sought out some Wiki articles about some of the people I've interviewed for my author-interview website, and then placed links to my site in the appropriate "External links" section. If this is a violation of protocol, I certainly apologize, and won't do it again. But now my question: why are links to other sites that are similar to mine permitted? (e.g. The Diane Rehm show, Leonard Lopate show, Don Swaim of CBS, etc) Is it ONLY because I submitted the links myself? Bill 05:14, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
Each of these pages has an external link to an interview or media site like mine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diana_Gabaldon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_McCourt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Buchwald http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Alda My site, by the way, is http://www.eyeonbooks.com. It's all author interviews. Am I too "commercial" in that I am an Amazon Associate? I do not sell anything myself. Bill 05:22, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
Fair enough. I assume, therefore, that no person connected in any way to the above-mentioned shows was responsible for any of those links. And I assume that the fact that most of those sites are Amazon affiliates, too, and could theoretically benefit from a Wiki link is irrelevant. I will refrain from further linking. Vandalism is any addition, deletion, or change to content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of the encyclopedia. The most common type of vandalism is the replacement of existing text with obscenities, page blanking, or the insertion of other wholly irrelevant content.
Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism. Apparent bad-faith edits that do not make their bad-faith nature inarguably explicit are not considered vandalism at Wikipedia.

What was out of context about a glimpse behind-the-scenes of a public figure? I made a mistake putting it next to a paragraph about his alleged religious beliefs. But, I feel that more information available on a given subject is usually better than less, for an informed public. Below is the further conversation I've been having with WAvegetarian about the context of the photo and the relevance to American history, such as it is.

A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. Redwolf24 runs the spam to keep members up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.
I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of FireFox, Flcelloguy, Titoxd, and Karmafist. The next set of elections will be in February, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

As I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2.
In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{ EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Wikipedia:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Also see the proposed programs page for many new proposals and old ones that need more discussion ;)
Other than that, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you an Esperanzially good new WikiYear :D Thank you! --

Every time I go to revert some vandalism or linkspam tonight, you seem to have fixed it first. Keep up the good work! -- GraemeL (talk) 22:06, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi, could you please move Tanoan to Tanoan languages please. My account is rather new and I can't do it. Thanks. Latinus 22:41, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. Latinus 22:46, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
This was an attempt at a cross site scripting attack. I would suggest using {{ bv}} if you see it again. The MediaWiki software shouldn't let it work, but the mere act of attempting it is blatant vandalism. -- GraemeL (talk) 22:56, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for reverting my userpage! -- Ferkelparade π 23:21, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi, when you reverted vandalism on Africa you missed that the previous edit was vandalism as well, so you reverted to a Creationist vandalized version. Just thought I'd let you know, it's now fixed. TH 09:06, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Why did you revert my comment on REddragon's page? I was being nice and helpful? Why do lie and call that vandalism? You should be demoted to Shiia you liar. 165.247.83.151 21:46, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I noticed you voted to on the abovementioned article. Initialy I wanted to keep it, but when I compared it to Nigritude ultramarine and Seraphim proudleduck it seems obvious that all theese articles are repating the same info:
I'd like to urge you to change your vote to Redirect to SEO Contest where I have created already made a copy of the article. This way they dont have "their own article" but they are mentioned in the encyclopedia. Seems like a compromise to me. Right now w/ all the Delete, Keep, And Redirect votes it will be hard to reach a compromise. This user has left wikipedia 22:15, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Hello, Naconkantari, I love the way you are "patrolling vandalism." I'ts so great, keep it up! I don't like anybody vandalising either. thankyou Abbopa 22:41, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanx for reverting the obnoxious 64.92 vandal ;D ! 68.39.174.238 23:42, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi Naconkantari, it was my first time writing on wikipedia and I did not read the instructions well enough. I am sorry. I copied the article from another website to wikipedia. It was tagged right away, which led me to actually read the instructions... So I took advantage of the subpage and wrote my own original article from scratch, as suggested. The article can be replaced now and I am sorry, but I didn't know what I was doing. That's not going to happen again! Conciacalis 00:17, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Conciacalis

Welcome, Nakon/archive1, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs.

Thank you for your support during my RfA! The community has decided to make me an administrator, and there's work to be done. I look forward to seeing you around the project in the future, and if you see me do anything dumb, let me know right away! Regards, CHAIRBOY ( ☎) 23:24, 27 January 2006 (UTC) |
You accused beardedmonk of blanking pages but which pages has he blanked - Special:Contributions/Beardedmonk ?? -- RHaworth 09:37, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
My apologies. I misread the history and thought he had created the school article. Sorry to bother you. -- RHaworth 19:35, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi, you're not an admin, are you. I'll nominate you if you like - just give me the green light ;-) Latinus 15:02, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
