I noticed you changed the DockIcon image file I uploaded to be a screenshot. I uploaded that file as an icon, not as a screenshot, and it is named as such, so I reverted it back. I did save the screenshot and its clipped version is LeopardDock.png. - PGSONIC 02:53, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. But I *do* think it is absolutely essential to be linked. Office 2007 introduces a new file format incompatible with the older binary format. Someone who creates an OOXML file and has a cross platform audience needs to know what is available on other platforms to consume the files, and the first thing they will search is resources on office 2k7, the software which let them create it in first place. Since this article is among the hottest sources for such information, it is necessary the needs of this people (who are no way interested in the Mac version, they just need to know if mac users will be able to view the files) are catered from here. -- soum ^talk 09:25, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

iMovie Attributions

Hi. You dinged my updates to the iMovie entry this month and wrote to say:

"However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to iMovie, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability."

So far as I can tell, the only unverified piece of information there is that Randy Ubilos wrote the latest incaranation that runs with the title iMovie. The rest is either an obvious given (it's not a rewrite, it looks and behaves like Final Cut Pro, Steve Jobs announced that it was a new application) or based on experiences that aren't likely to appear in an Apple press briefing (what features went missing).

Furthermore, the list of missing features was compiled by yours truly from a wide variety of user forums as well as from my own experience with the new product. If, as a first person reporter, I'm unable to tell what I've found and instead must rely on someone else who's seen it posting a blog or whatnot, then that's not terribly more reliable than me posting a blog story and refering to myself as the attributed source. It rather creates opportunity for a short circuit. And if only known sources are to be allowed, say, a New York TImes reporter or something, then that severely limits the information that might be captured for posterity's sake. Not everything is reported in a journal, you know.

Finally, the original entry didn't include attributions for any of its claims. Therefore, allowing those lines to remain underscores the very arbitrary nature of your actions.

I'll leave it alone. I've no desire to scour the Apple site or make links to the New York Times archives --which 99.99% of users can't access after 7 days past the publishing date-- just to make a more accurate and complete historical record. The iMovie entry reads like an advertisement, in any case. There's not been made any serious attempt to capture iMovie in either a technical or cultural historical perspective. Then again, if the marketing documents say it, then it must be true.

Question about reversion on oxycontin/oxycodone article

Hi! You reverted an edit I made to this paragraph (actaully an insert following it):

On June 7th, 2005, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit upheld a decision from the previous year that some of Purdue’s patents for OxyContin could not be enforced. This decision allowed and led to the immediate announcement from Endo Pharmaceutical Holdings, Inc. that they would begin launching a generic version of all four strengths of OxyContin.[7]

Santa Rosa versus Crestline

Like on MacBook Pro, I am having the same problem with the un-sourced claim being added and the sourced claim being removed on the Intel iMac article. I had hope the iMac Developer Note might resolve the matter, but there is no mention of either codename. The published sources say Santa Rosa and I do not think an editor consensus can ignore that. You might want to look at the AFD of a similar article which was deleted: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/IPhone availability, sales, and pricing. Need Guidance Please - Article Neutrality

Hi! I suspect that a wikiarticle is consistently being edited in favor of VMware Fusion over Parallels Desktop and is not fulfilling the Wikipedia policy of Nuetrality. I have absolutely no interest in edit wars. What do I do? The article is VMware Fusion vs Parallels Desktop. As you're a long-time contributor to software-related pages, including those for these two companies, I thought that you would know how best to address this.

Any help would be appreciated.
