You're making the lead section far too large in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You need to move more of that information into the following paragraphs. -- Avanu ( talk) 06:34, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
I've reverted your adition of the link to Microbial Corrosion from Iron Pipes in the Walkerton Tragedy article here. It appears that you were suggesting that the initial contamination was the result of microbial corrosion in iron pipes, rather than from E. coli contaminated runoff, as was found in the rteports of the incident. Even if that wasn't your intention, there's no need for that link since there is no mention of microbial corrosion inthe article. Meters ( talk) 19:56, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
The rest of the story is that even with all of the flushing the old iron pipes because of the microbial corrosion/turberculation )internal corrosion) could not be cleaned enough and all of the pipes were replaced with PVC pipes that do not have the same problems. The run off can start something, but the pipe material, condition and age add and/or continues the problem. This is a growing concern in the water treatment industry as prices rise to chemically treat the issue and the water quality degrades.
- That's interesting, and may well warrant inclusion in the article, but not the way you did it. Your addition appears to claim that the contamination referred to was the microbial; corrosion, not the runoff. Write a summary of the pipe replacement aftermath, and provide a proper source for the replacement. Details of the general problem would go in the pipe article, not the Walkerton article. Please don't use inline references the way you have been doing in the articles you have been editing if they don't already use them. I suggest you read WP:CITE I was just about to revert or rewrite most of what you put in the pipe article, but I'll leave it for you to look at the references first. Another problem in that article, the decrease in wall thickness of 415% is impossible (it has to be referenced to the original thickness, not the final thickness). It is actually a decrease of 76%.
