Hi MtPenguinMonster! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. We hope to see you there!

Hi, I note that you have changed Ngunnawal language to remove the 'extinct' status. You said that you did this because it "... contradicts the claim in Current Status that the langauge has been used in the community for years". But the Current Status section does not make that claim. Rather, it says, in short, that the Ngunnawal community has for years been engaged in work to revive the language, with the aim of bringing it back into daily use. I'm actually one of the 'AIATSIS linguists' working with the Ngunnawal community to assist them with this work, and while I hope it will move out of the 'extinct' status, it is an appropriate label at the moment. I'll also mention that in the field language revival we don't normally use the word 'extinct' as community members find it insulting, but that's the label we have available here in WP. I'm happy to discuss this, but I think it appropriate to revert your change. Cheers! Dougg ( talk) 01:19, 5 August 2023 (UTC)

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
