Hi Mr. Straub! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
Hi Mr. Straub. Thank you for your contributions. I noticed that you recently welcomed a new user to wikipedia. Thank you for doing so. There is a template that is used for doing such tasks. To use it, you only have to type {{subst:Welcome}} on the talk page of the user, as I have done above, and the message will appear on their user talk page. Thank you! -- Mathnerd 101 ( talk | contribs) 02:29, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm
I dream of horses. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of
your recent contributions, such as the one you made with
this edit to
User talk:Owen wise, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on
my talk page. Thanks,

Please do not encourage your students to make pointless user page edits. Indeed, tell them not to create accounts until the actually have useful contributions to make. — RHaworth ( talk · contribs) 12:26, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
What you should do is announce yourselves at Wikipedia:school and university projects, create a page like this one and tell all your students to sign it. — RHaworth ( talk · contribs) 17:14, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
And also tell each student to create a user page saying "I am one of Mr. Straub's students - see [link to your project page in the Wikipedia namespace]". This would get them creating their first wikilink. — RHaworth ( talk · contribs) 20:23, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
My comment above was written out of sheer frustration. Please see User talk:David Zheng1998. I encountered a group of accounts all doing useless edits in similar style. I assumed that they were the work of one person playing about since it seemed incredible that so many people would all decide to do equally pointless edits at the same time. As it turns out the main time wasting was mine doing the investigation. I am pleased to see that you will take my advice with future students. — RHaworth ( talk · contribs) 20:23, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
Sorry to come back but I have just found this Namibian list which is what I wanted to show you before. User:Mr. Straub/classes/ and User:Mr. Straub/classesfuyang/ would have been just as good, if you had got your students to add themselves to the lists - sure some would have messed it up but telling them what they had done wrong would have been good training. — RHaworth ( talk · contribs) 13:48, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
You do not own any page on Wikipedia. While you are free to ask other editors not to edit pages in your user space, you are in no position to insist that other editors do not remove inappropriate content. JamesBWatson ( talk) 11:58, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current
Arbitration Committee election. The
Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia
arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose
site bans,
topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The
arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to
review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on
the voting page. For the Election committee,

Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
