Please note that this page is currently not finished; more information will be added as I have time. Please comment only on existing information, as much information has not been rewritten yet for this article. (In other words, I know stuff is missing, so don't leave comments like "You left out this" or "You left out that" unless that information is clearly part of something I've already rewritten.) – Mipadi 21:39, 14 February 2006 (UTC) reply

It is already looking outstanding. Deckiller 21:43, 14 February 2006 (UTC) reply
Progress report: I've finished up through the Battle of Kamino. Next article to merge/rewrite is Battle of Felucia. – Mipadi 19:49, 15 February 2006 (UTC) reply
Progress report: I've finished up through the Battle of Brentaal IV. – Mipadi 22:04, 15 February 2006 (UTC) reply
Progress report: For anyone interested, I have been forced to put work on this article on temporary hiatus. My beloved iBook has unfortunately broken. It seems there is a problem with some of the internal circuitry. I will probably not be editing this article much until I get it fixed or buy a new one. – Mipadi 23:54, 20 February 2006 (UTC) reply

Hiatus

I've been really busy lately, but I'm planning on getting back to work on this soon—possibly over spring break. – Mipadi 01:47, 3 March 2006 (UTC) reply

Minor battles

Some battles listed in the current Clone Wars article were clearly put into a game for purposes of gameplay, and provide little to no material. I am not linking them into Clone Wars; rather, I think they should be redirected to the appropriate videogame article instead. – Mipadi 23:43, 6 April 2006 (UTC) reply

Completely agreed. As long as we get rid of that massive laundry list of articles and organize the encyclopedic information accordingly, I'm a happy man :) Want a hand with this page? — Deckill e r 23:44, 6 April 2006 (UTC) reply
I don't mind laying out the basic remaining groundwork, but it'll be nice to have a few more editors once the page is "complete".
I plan on trimming out some more of the minor battles, and just linking their articles to the relevant videogame article. Even this page is long and very wordy, and I think it'd be more constructive and useful to give readers an overview, along with details about major battles (i.e. ones that occured in the movies or were important in some novels). – Mipadi 00:31, 7 April 2006 (UTC) reply

Completion

I'd like to complete this as soon as possible. The article is rather lengthy, so I'd like to trim it down in size, and also make it have more connections outside of the Star Wars universe. Stay tuned for updates! – Mipadi 17:03, 3 May 2006 (UTC) reply

I'm reworking the article to focus on what Wikipedia should focus on: namely, the importance of the fictional event as a work of fiction, and how it relates to other fictional works and pop culture. Wookieepedia already has a great article on the Clone Wars, so I think the details of the event as an "actual" event in Star Wars should remain there. – Mipadi 05:32, 5 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Out of universe perspective

This really needs to be written from more of an out-of-universe perspective, (at least) attributing the different battles to the works in which they appear and noting retcons.

Also, I seem to recall that the Clone Wars were strictly off-limits for EU works until after the prequels were made, but I can't come up with a good source. Maybe you would have better luck sourcing that. - A Man In Bl♟ck ( conspire | past ops) 00:38, 5 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Oh, yeah. Don't forget to dab/see also the game and the comic series both named Clone Wars. - A Man In Bl♟ck ( conspire | past ops) 00:40, 5 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Yeah, I'm working on rewriting it from an "extra-Star Wars" perspective, which is why it hasn't been updated in a few weeks. – Mipadi 04:52, 5 May 2006 (UTC) reply
Yes, but let's PLEASE remember that writing this from an out-of-universe perspective does not mean that all those battles get their own articles. They should still redirect to this page, but I agree that it should have (or at least include) an out-of-universe style. — Deckill e r 11:10, 5 May 2006 (UTC) reply
Yep, I agree. I think we should redirect the small battle articles to Clone Wars, or the relevant videogame article. If there's a good link to the battle on Wookieepedia, we should provide a link to it in the See also section. – Mipadi 14:55, 5 May 2006 (UTC) reply
Yeah, I think a reasonable goal is reducing Category:Star Wars battles down to ten battles. — Deckill e r 19:08, 5 May 2006 (UTC) reply
