Tuckahoe marble

"Tuckahoe marble" is not a brand name, it's a description and, in fact, our article on it is at Westchester marble, so please stop changing links to "Tuckahoe marble" to "Tuckahoe Marble Quarries". Thanks. Beyond My Ken ( talk) 06:04, 25 August 2012 (UTC) reply

In order to support the claim that every instance where "Tuckahoe marble" is mentioned specifically refers to this specific quarry, as opposed to a generic term, you're going to need to have a citation from a reliable source for each and everyone which specifically says that the marble came from that very quarry, and no where else. When you have those citations from reliable sources, then you can change a generic reference to "Tuckahoe marble" to "Tuckahoe Marble Quarries". OK, I think I see now what you've done. I've changed the redirect so that the link "Tuckahoe marble" goes to your new article instead of to "Westchester marble", and I've moved your article from "Tuckahoe Marble Quarries" to "Tuckahoe marble quarries" so it doesnt' look like a brand name or the name of a company. I think you can continue to take any reference to "Tuckahoe marble" as referring to the marble from those quarries -- just make sure that if a reference says only "Westchester marble" you don't change it to "Tuckahoe marble" without a citation to support the change. I've done a bit of clean up on your new article, and I think everything's in OK shape.

Sorry if I jumped the gun and came on too strong, my watchlist suddenly lit up with a lot of changes, and things just didn't look right to begin with, but got much better as I dug into what you had done. Best, Beyond My Ken ( talk) 06:34, 25 August 2012 (UTC) reply
