I note your comments re squad numbers on the above articles. The number 22 was added by User 212.100.108.192 on 5 January and I accepted this at face value and replicated it in the West Ham squad template. In future I will check with the club website before amending squad numbers in future. My apologies Daemonic Kangaroo 15:51, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi Matt. Seeing as you update Watford player infoboxes a fair bit I thought I might bring up an odd discrepancy I've seen in Soccerbase's stats (presuming that's what you're using). For some reason they catergorise play-off appearances as "other" and not league games. However, the Football League regards them as league games so I think we should refer to the higher power. Thus there's a number of Watford players who might appear to have a couple of too many appearances, but that's just their play-off games. I'm not sure if it's the case for Leeds players, Palace players or Preston players, or even players from other league play-off games and from other seasons. Unfortunately I suspect it might be! Cheers, HornetMike 22:59, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
An editor has nominated the article Billy Russell for deletion, under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination (also see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). do not wish to be offended by this but i feel i must defend myself. Nitelink Rovers is a football team affiliated with a youth club in Dublin Ireland. I am responsible for this youth club and run it along with other adults. The mentioned "coach" is another leader in the youth club who has qualifications from the FAI(football association of Ireland). We are an amateur youth club and the international youth club cup is what the group of teams refer to the tournament as. Our youth club is affiliated with the E.C.Y.D. and regnum Christi (see legionaires of Christ) who have a boarding school in Wicklow, Ireland known as Dublin Oak. The other teams are all teams of E.C.Y.D. Members from clubs in the country. The children in the youth club all use Wikipedia as a resource for their school work and asked that they could have themselves on the site. This article may not be of significant use to other members of the site but the children really enjoy being able to see themselves on the internet. As a user of Wikipedia for many years I am upset that other users are saying that i should be blocked as i have put nothing untruthful in any of the articles I have written. The only part of any article that could be deemed untrue is the inclusion of Eugene O'Connor and "Zippo" Nolan. These are two fathers who have done alot of work installing toilets and doing building work on the club and as a gesture of goodwill the children asked them to be included.
I would like to hear from people regarding this issue as i feel it is highly unfair what is being said of myself and these articles.

Hi, Matty. Had you realised that the Soccerbase page detailing Neil's playing career shows absolute zeros in every column, and no drop-down choices for years played? I just thought that it provides a piece of non-information, that's all, if you see what I mean! As you know, Neil retired from playing in 1979, and Soccerbase does not actually give stats for him for any years prior to that, as far as I'm aware. I've no beef about this, just thought I mention. Why shouldn't they? When every non-crap article on a football team has examples of notable players who have turned out for the club, such as Juventus F.C., Real Madrid, A.C. Milan, FC Barcelona, etc.
Also there is no official policy, saying that only players who have played 100 games are notable. That isn't how football works. Marco Gabbiadini is viewed as more notable, by fans and media alike at the club, than say Richard Cooper (footballer) who has made 100+ appearences. - Daddy Kindsoul 20:08, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

I have some slight reservations about the Man Utd managers template. Thinking ahead, just imagine, for example, how cluttered the Ron Atkinson article would look with the (future) templates WBA managers, Man Utd managers, Villa managers, Cov managers, Sheff Wed managers, Forest managers... I guess I'm jumping the gun a little, but templates do tend to get copied. Just a thought. Good work on the articles by the way, Clayton Donaldson particularly impressive. -- Jameboy 19:14, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

I made a few changes/copy edits to the older history parts, which I hope you won't mind. It's a bit galling to realise that the time when I was watching York City regularly was almost 40 years ago!
Hey, I may have missed the boat, but I thought I'd let you know I've added a bunch of (hopefully useful) comments here. Hope they help, let me know if I can help you out with anything. The Rambling Man 16:54, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
As a footie specialist, can I ask you to contribute to Wikipedia:Peer review/Italian football champions -- Dweller 13:33, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Hey, thanks for your question - I would prefer to see the managers within the article (as is the way with most, if not all of the current FA football team articles). The list of managers isn't that big, it could be split into two columns if necessary. But that's just my personal opinion! The Rambling Man 10:20, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and can you cast a glance at Italian football champions which is now listed under featured list candidates here. I'd appreciate your support/comments etc if you have a moment! Cheers. The Rambling Man 10:21, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and can you cast another glance, this time at Norwich City F.C. which is now listed under featured article candidates here. Again, all contributions much appreciated! Cheers... The Rambling Man 18:03, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi - it appears that the article you created on Casey Stoney is a blatant copyright violation from the page from the F.A. website. Please refrain from uploading copyrighted text as articles. - fchd 21:14, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
I'm going to copyedit it properly tomorrow, but rest assured I'll be giving you my support. I hope you don't mind my gnomish modifications, if you do object, of course, let me know. All that aside, I'll not rest until this article has been promoted, so if there's anything I can do in the course of it's nomination, don't hesitate to call on me. Best of luck The Rambling Man 21:29, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I appreciate all the hard work you're putting in at the FAC (been there...!). I'm sure you've noticed that my comments were all on one small chunk of the article. Please drop me a line when the article's had a thorough copyedit by someone fresh to it and I'll be happy to review my oppose. Cheers. -- Dweller 15:13, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I took that pic of Brass and Busby on 2nd October 2004 after City beat Stevenage 3-1 at home. Cheers. Dashwortley 00:41, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi, those two were taken on 2/10/04 and 6/2/05 respectively. Cheers. Dashwortley 18:52, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Cheers. I've just put one on of Clayton Donaldson, (Clayton Don 07.jpg), not brilliant but i'm working on getting more of other players soon. (And hopefully we'll get to Wembley and my camera will be there too!). Dashwortley 19:43, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I think the article pretty much covers everything. Good work. I will say that I think Neil Bishop needs a page now after the fantastic season he's had. Cheers. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dashwortley ( talk • contribs) 09:21, 30 April 2007 (UTC).
I've made a start on the copyedit, probably won't do much more today, but I'll try to continue tomorrow. If anyone asks, I've had a look at History, Crest & Colours, but no further, and I messed a bit with the lead. Hope you don't mind! The Rambling Man 19:00, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
I made a few changes/copy edits to the older history parts, which I hope you won't mind. It's a bit galling to realise that the time when I was watching York City regularly was almost 40 years ago! I still have a programme for the Barry Jackson Testimonial Match against Hull City, but can't now remember the score. Good luck with this. Johnlp 21:11, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi Matty. I'm going to change to Support. Thanks for bearing with my pedantry. I personally don't think the supporters' banners are really notable - imagine how many big banners have been held on The Kop - it'd fill an article on LFC. Perhaps cut and paste it to the subarticle on the stadium? Anyway, nice one. -- Dweller 15:38, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
