    • Just so you keep a track. This link is where the article is posted right now so you can add reliable sources. Like I mentioned, write to me for any help. Wifione Message 05:13, 4 February 2012 (UTC) reply

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Craig Davies (entrepreneur, racing driver), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Gaijin42 ( talk) 14:58, 7 February 2012 (UTC) reply

craig davies article

Hi, my page has been deleted and is now a userpge, which I don't want. How do I change it to an article page? Thanks (Moved from deleted talk page to user's talk page by Gaijin42)

Hi (Matt?), I was one of the editors involved in the deletion discussion for the Craig Davies page, and I would be happy to help you, and discuss it with you further. You can see the deletion discussion here.

What it boils down to is that Craig was determined to not have WP:NOTABILITY which would be achieved by having WP:RELIABLESOURCES writing about him (either in his sports, or entrepreneurial capacity). There are special criteria for sports, which could also "grant" Craig notability, which have specific criteria for motor sports. Those criteria can be seen here. In this case, I think it would hinge on "Have driven in a fully professional series. A fully professional series is one where prize money is not trivial compared to the cost of the series. For example, the SCCA Trans-Am Series is considered professional while the SCCA Spec Miata National Championship would not be." This would need at least one reliable source (although a primary source could probably qualify), but special care would need to be shown that it does actually meet the criteria, as not every race qualifies, as in the example above.

As far as process is concerned, the article was formally deleted via a deletion discussion, which makes it eligible for immediate deletion if re-created, and possible sanctions to the editor that recreates it in violation of policy. Therefore, to recreate it, you would probablay need to go to deletion review, or at least discuss it with several editors or administrators to make sure a newer version of the article now qualifies under wikipedia policy. The best thing for you to do would be to update the article in your userspace, adding additional references to either prove General Notability or the specific sports notability above, using reliable sources (Preferably, newsspapers, magazines, books, tv shows, discussing craig directly in depth, not just mentioning him in passing). Generally 2 or 3 such reliable sources qualify a topic as suitibly notable.

Please let me know if you have further question. I am watching your talk page, so you can reply here. Gaijin42 ( talk) 14:30, 15 February 2012 (UTC) reply

Thanks for your reply - I'll make those changes at once. Thanks for the help, Matt
