Dead links

I see that you have been trying to "fix" dead links. Deleting the tag that says "url-status=dead" does not fix anything.

References are a record of the sources that were used in creating the article. A reference is still valid even if it is no longer available online. Dead links don't need to be fixed. Sometimes a reference is available online at a new URL. In that case we replace the dead URL with the new one, and then remove the "url-status=dead" tag. Removing the tag without updating the URL accomplishes nothing, however.

It is also not appropriate to change the URL to point to some other source. In this edit you provided a new URL, but it did not point to the same reference as the original, and in fact did not point directly to any resource but was just the homepage of a historical organization. Homepages are not suitable references.

One last tip: Check the preview before submitting your edit, to make sure the page looks the way you expect. Most of your dead link "fix" edits left the page broken, with the reference not displaying correctly. I have fixed all of these. -- Srleffler ( talk) 02:57, 2 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Good Times

I undid your edit to Good Times (Elvis Presley album). The new material you added duplicated some of the content that was already in the article, and looked as if you had copied and pasted it in from some other source. We generally can't use material that is copied from elsewhere because of copyrights.

If I'm mistaken and you did write that material yourself, reply here and I will restore it and help to integrate it better into the article. -- Srleffler ( talk) 03:01, 2 October 2023 (UTC) reply
