Hi Luke, thank you for your work on "List of most viewed YouTube videos" (as well as your work on "See You Again") - much appreciated. A word of caution though - could you avoid updating See You Again's view count on "List of most viewed YouTube videos", unless you are also going to update all the other videos in that list at the same time. I know it is a big job to update them all, and that there are other people who just update their favourite song etc, but updating all the videos keeps all the counts consistent with each other, which is really the point of the list. It is more important that the video counts are consistent with each other than that they are right up to date. There has always been a note at the top of the list to update them all simultaneously - and this used to be enforced quite strongly. I will update them all periodically (eg weekly) if no one else does it, so don't worry about that. Do you think this is fair? Tcamfield ( talk) 18:39, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi I'm discussing rounding YouTube view counts with another user on my talk page. Would you mind explaining why? Regards, Dramaticmusic ( talk) 07:54, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
Hi Luke. You've undone my edit a couple of times now and I don't really see why. First of all, the channel that has two videos in the top 5 for 2007 is called icanrockyourworld, but the artist who performs the songs is Gummibar. Throughout the entire article, the uploader is referred to by their stage name, not their channel name. Secondly, I think every video should have a link so people know what the video is about. Sure, " Life Goes On" is an obscure song as it was never released as a single, but still, by clicking the link they will find out it was the ninth track from the first disc of the Tupac Shakur album All Eyez On Me, was written by Shakur, Johnny Jackson and Stacie Small, was produced by Johnny "J" and is five minutes and two seconds long. Do you now see the importance of linking "Life Goes On"? Finally, the uploader's name should have a link to the entity who actually created the video. I understand that that might not make perfect sense, for example, fhearnoiz, the uploader of "Life Goes On" is not Tupac Shakur, but this is the way it works elsewhere in the article. On the list of historical most viewed videos, "My Space: The Movie" was uploaded by eggtea, but that name is linked to Dave Lehre Productions, the actual creator of the video. The other time this happens is with "Music Is My Hot Hot Sex" which was uploaded by CLARUSBARTEL72, but that name is linked to CSS, the actual performers of the song. Please tell me what I'm missing here. 0737290632t2x273n ( talk) 14:00, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Hey Luke! I work on the Wikimedia Foundation's communications team. I'm putting together a quick blog post on the most-edited articles on the English Wikipedia this year, and the list of most-viewed YouTube videos is in the top twenty. Would you be able to tell me what you've done with the article in the last year, and what draws you to come back to the article so often? I'd like to quote you in the post. Since you are mostly editing this "list of most-viewed youtube videos", I have a suggestion. How about making this list videos that exceeded 1 billion views instead of 100 most viewed video. Regarding this edit, how are my numbers incorrect? According to the YouTube video statistics, all of these numbers I added are correct. For example, YT Rewind 2016 is currently standing at 3,513,017 likes. However, you reverted my edit and brought the article number back to only 3.49 million, which is inaccurate. The most liked video, "Criança de Rico e Criança de Pobre" by whinderssonnunes, is only at 4,498,549 likes, yet the article claims a higher number of 4.50 million. Please explain this. Cogaidh ( talk) 20:48, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
I hope you would consider it important because it does stand out knowing that Trending brings a huge influx of viewers to a video so it's numbers could of been much higher compared to the other videos and information and context is of course is always important you can edit it how you want but i respectfully ask that you think on it and reconsider it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dil17 ( talk • contribs) 10:27, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
Hello Luke, I changed the "as of" day on the "most liked non-music videos" to the correct date just after I noticed the likes on the top video had gone up. Thanks for your work on constantly updating the "List of most-liked YouTube videos". I appreciate the non-music video section (it would be nice to see it expanded to 50 or 100, as it is very very interesting, and will be great for history data). Also I like the fact that the like ratios show to 2 decimals rather than 1. A couple of questions. Number 1, why does the "List of most-liked YouTube videos" only go to 40? As surly 100 would make more sense. The "List of most-disliked YouTube videos" goes to 50. And the list of "List of most-viewed YouTube videos" goes to 100. And the "List of most-viewed Vevo videos" goes to 100. Surely increasing the list (and the most-disliked list) to 100 can only be good, as it's displaying more information. Also where do you get the info of the most liked videos to know that "Ping Pong Trick Shots 3" is ranked 196th most liked video? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SuperSight ( talk • contribs) 03:12, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
Hey Luke, nice name by the way, I noticed on the page 'List of most-liked YouTube videos' that the total music videos listed have shrunk down to 30 from 40 (to what it was originally). This was done by the user 'Tcamfield' on April 8th 2019, at 20:39 (I don't know if that's my time or a central time for Wikipedia). Why was the listing shrunk? Was this vandalism? Was this intentional? If this was intentional, why was that? I would myself change it back myself, but the page is semilocked until April 22nd 2019. I look forward to your reply, LukeSpooks ( talk) 09:36, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

I've got to say this from your reverted difference. Non-music videos on the top lists in both most-viewed and most-liked videos should be highlighted with a yellow background color and a dagger, because the top lists shows that they're mostly music videos but some of them are not. Since I looked at your edit reason, I have a question to ask you: is it important to highlight those videos in those top lists with a yellow background color that are not music videos? -- Allen ( talk / ctrb) 17:26, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=List_of_most-liked_YouTube_videos&diff=prev&oldid=979905693 And is it "necessary" to say that BTS have five videos, Blackpink have four, and Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, and Selena Gomez have two? I wouldn't say it's exactly necessary, but it does add additional relevant information, which is sort of the point of an encyclopedia, don't you think? I would make the same case for my edit. That being said, I won't be putting it back (or decide not to) until you reply, because I'm curious to hear what you want to say, and the last thing I want is to start an edit war. I also noticed further edits undoing and/or moving edits made by the bot or other editors, on the associated archive pages. I'm just curious as to what that is all about? Is the bot not working properly? (In which case it should be reported) Or is the bot just not moving right amount of content at the right time?
Hi, I am trying my best to help Wikipedia, including list above. However, I think you are reverting my edits without a reason. I think it could be because I have put numbers that are bigger than actual. But, I am rounding numbers as it is stated. I think you don't have to revert me, talk with me instead. Thanks. You don't have a monopoly on the Youtube most liked videos list. My edit was completely valid. Thank you Ikrewrwe ( talk) 16:24, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
Hello! I saw my edit on See You Again was reverted by you. However, as I cited in my edit summary, Nothing but Trouble was only a promotional single. You can even see that is the case on the Nothing but Trouble page. So I am putting the edit back. If you don't agree, please don't revert my edit again, instead write something here and we'll sort it out nicely. Pianoguysfan ( talk) 07:29, 18 October 2017 (UTC)

My copy deadline is, unfortunately, as soon as you can get back to me, as I'll be out on vacation starting on Saturday. Thank you! Ed Erhart (WMF) ( talk) 20:41, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
Hy Luke Stark 96! Even though I'm a new user here in wikipedia, I'd like to start contributing on here and improve some articles. I did a recent contribution on "List of most-viewed YouTube videos" and undid it. I've seen most of the contributions are yours, but I'd like to help you on this page as I did recently. If you'd like me te help on this, please tell me. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marc7lopez ( talk • contribs) 21:05, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
Since you are mostly editing this "list of most-viewed youtube videos", I have a suggestion. How about making this list videos that exceeded 1 billion views instead of 100 most viewed video. Then, it will be more reasonable to add more videos. I hope you consider my idea. Thank you very much... Luke Kern Choi 5 ( talk) 10:33, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
Hi Luke would you be able to tell me when - Adele's Hello - The date the video went up from 16th place to 15th on List of most-viewed YouTube videos & as I know you keep a clever eye on this page. Not sure if you keep this information, or could you point me to a history page (Other than scrolling) the Mostly your Edits. If by chance you do keep this info, would it be possible to list for me the positions up or down from when it first came out..... if not just when it went to 15th from 16th Thank you & keep up your great work Thanks Pauseypaul ( talk) 18:02, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

I am just curious why you reverted my change when the wikipedia page is being updated and today is the 29th, not the 28th. Fandomroleplayer ( talk) 19:34, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
What's your source for the most liked video list? Jerry ( talk) 17:19, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
Don't worry about my reversion of your edit to List of most-liked YouTube videos; I was trying to click a diff on my watchlist and it seems it decided to move downward on my computer screen, putting the rollback option for your edit in its place. I've now self-reverted my rollback. Sorry about that!-- SkyGazer 512 My talk page 23:25, 24 April 2019 (UTC)

Holy heck your frequent contributions to updating the highest-grossing films (and formerly YouTube lists) on Wikipedia have been extraordinarily helpful. Most editors may find it annoying or repetitive, but not you, and because of that I can safely read the List of highest-grossing films and know it is reliable and up-to-date. Thank you! Hi, I noticed you had just archived some content from Talk:List of highest-grossing films, even though that page has a bot set up for that. I also noticed further edits undoing and/or moving edits made by the bot or other editors, on the associated archive pages. I'm just curious as to what that is all about? Is the bot not working properly? (In which case it should be reported) Or is the bot just not moving right amount of content at the right time? (In which case the settings should be adjusted) Or is it something else? - wolf 15:00, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
