The claim made in the Jake Roberts article is that his Myspace page and several news sites claim that he is in rehab. This is supported by the reference, and you should not remove sourced information. Thanks, GaryColemanFan ( talk) 16:16, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Dear Gary...WHY does his rehab belong on this page? I WORK WITH JAKE..if it were not for the fact that Nickla Roberts can't keep her big mouth shut, this would not be out--yet. HE does NOT want this up on this page. I'd be happy to discuss it with you, but if you must get an administrator, go ahead. I will simply have Jake contact them directly, stating his wishes. HE has more right to this than you, OR I.
Thank you. LsWhitten
Lswhitten, if there is information that you or your organization would like to submit offline, please see Wikipedia:Contact us/Article problem/Factual error (from subject). That page gives an email address where you may contact the foundation directly and express your concerns. Arguing it here is not going to be fruitful. Please stop, in the interim, reverting the article, and this is addressed to everyone. For those who have been discussing this issue with Lswhitten, please recognize that biographies of living persons can cause stress to those persons and it is EXTREMELY important that controversial information not be added unless it is well-sourced. -- B ( talk) 03:15, 5 January 2008 (UTC) Nickla Roberts is x family she is not his family. I'd like to know who IN HIS FAMILY you have been in contact with..tell me that. I am his direct contact. you want to put up facts, why don't you ask a direct source? I will continue to take anything off I do not consider factuaL. If you aren't pleased...I am not terribly concerned. I won't permit much creative liberty here. Thanks. LS
LS - If you read numerous Wiki pages you will see that traditionaly articles are written in third person referring to the subject by their last name. No Mr. or Mrs. is used, just the last name. It is not an intention to disrespect Mr. Smith. For an example, please see Barack Obama. Also, considering the fact that you work for him, please reread the policies on wp:pov and WP:COI. Thank you. LessThanClippers ( talk) 23:21, 17 January 2008 (UTC) And if you'll read this entire posting on Jake, you'll notice that only in the beginning is he even referenced as a Smith at all. It reads a bit disrepectfully..given the fact that the information is there against his will in the first place, given that you are trying to be consistant, why don't you just use Roberts? I woudn't CARE about that, but otherwise, this does read disrespectfully. He's seen it, it was HIS comment. LS (You can change it back, but I sure would like to meet you face to face somewhere down the road.)
Please stop removing sourced information from articles. I understand that you are in a position that makes you feel the need to protect the Smith family. The information in articles on the family is not intended to be disrespectful. It is meant to be honest and verifiable. The Grizzly Smith article, in particular, is attributed to reliable sources. This means that it is not information generated by a Wikipedia editor, but rather a collection of information that is already available to the public. I know that this is a very difficult time for the family, and I certainly don't mean to sound callous (I'll say a prayer for all of them tonight), but personal feelings do not change Wikipedia policies. I agree that there are huge problems with WP:NOTCENSORED, but until it is amended, we will have to live within its limitations. Best wishes, GaryColemanFan ( talk) 04:46, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
