Biography article creation

Welcome to Wikipedia! While your work is appreciated, the articles that you are creating do not conform with the encyclopedia's Manual of Style or guidelines for biographies. Please review these guidelines, along with WP:OPENPARA and the guidelines for providing reliable and independent sources and formatting citations. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that the Manual of Style should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the links provided in the Welcome template above to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Before creating more articles, please familiarize yourself with the guidelines and revisit and edit your previously created articles to ensure compliance. This generally works out much better than having other editors following you around the project to perform cleanup work. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me anytime. Ways to improve Mary Weston Fordham

Hi, I'm Wakowako. Lkayblkayb, thanks for creating Mary Weston Fordham!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. No evidence of notability

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

I've just come across this article while stub-sorting. Please note that the first sentence of a biographical article should tell us why the person is "notable" in Wikipedia terms. Usually an article will start off "[name] ([dates]) is/was a [nationality] [occupation]". This first sentence is what shows up in Google searches and other places, so it's important that it tells us concisely about the person. I shouldn't have to plough on through the whole paragraph to discover that she was a writer, and that this is her claim to fame. Thanks. Pam D 13:54, 10 December 2012 (UTC) reply
