Declined article

Hi, I see my article "Sharon Tettegah" was declined again and the general reason put was that it doesn't meet the minimum inline citation requirement. I'm not sure why. Could you please elaborate on what specifically is needed? Thank you! ST4603SB ( talk) 00:28, 14 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Hi ST4603SB, thanks for reaching out. On Wikipedia biographies of living persons have specific requirements where all stated facts need to be backed up by an appropriate source (you can visit that page for more details) as I noted in a comment on your draft. Please add the necessary citations so that information about your subject can be verified before resubmitting. Thanks. ~ Liance talk 16:20, 15 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Request for Review of Revised Draft: Muntadher Saleh

Hi, I have revised the draft article on Muntadher Saleh following the guidelines provided in the Wikipedia:Spam policy, particularly addressing the issues related to promotional tone. The article has been rewritten to ensure a neutral and objective tone, focusing on verifiable facts and significant achievements without promotional language. I have also incorporated additional details and sources to enhance the article's credibility and comprehensiveness. I kindly request that you review the revised draft to determine if it meets Wikipedia's standards for neutrality and verifiability. If you find that there are still areas needing improvement, I would greatly appreciate your feedback and specific suggestions for further revisions. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards.

004bvan You need to resubmit your draft before it can be reviewed again (there is a "Resubmit" button at the top of the page). I usually do not do manual re-reviews for the sake of fairness, once you resubmit the draft it will automatically enter the draft queue and a reviewer will be able to pick it up. Hi Liance,

I've never done a Wikipedia article before and I was hoping you could help guide me in regards to getting this draft from non approved to approved.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Joshua369krafchick ( talk) 18:20, 23 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Moved message to new section Hi Bio315 - on Wikipedia all facts need to be cited by a source for verifiability. There are specific requirements for biographies of living persons as I noted in the feedback left on your talk page. Specifically, the majority of the "Chess Career" and "Strength & Style" sections are almost entirely uncited and you should add inline citations to reliable sources whenever you state a fact about the subject. Hope this helps. ~ Liance talk 01:29, 28 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Hi.

You declined my draft again. The article is about a notable Albertan judge. I haven’t added to much information as I don’t want to work on it a lot and then have it rejected again. I’ve changed and added references hopefully it will be acceptable now. Lisha2037 ( talk) 01:35, 28 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Hi Lisha2037 - as noted in my feedback, at the time of your initial submission(s) that I declined the draft had only a primary source (the court's webpage) and a link to the subject' LinkedIn profile which is user generated content and not a reliable source. Seeing that the draft is properly supported by additional secondary sources and appears to be notable by WP:NJUDGE I will go ahead and accept the draft. In addition I would like to let you know that I declined your draft, not rejected it - a decline means the reviewer has provided feedback and you are encouraged to resolve the highlighted issues and resubmit. I hope this helps and thank you for your contributions! ~ Liance talk 01:42, 28 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Hi Liance. I just wanted to let you know that I nominated an article that you recently approved at AfC, Princess Polly, for deletion, after a G11 CSD was declined. Best, voorts ( talk/ contributions) 21:21, 28 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Thanks for looping me in Voorts - I accepted it because after a look on Google News I felt it comfortably passed NCORP and assumed other editors would add sources and improve the article. I'll let AfD have the final say though. ~ Liance talk 21:52, 28 May 2024 (UTC) reply

AfC reviews

Hi. I saw your decline reasoning at Draft:Untitled Jurassic World Dominion Sequel, and I don't think "Currently, portions of this draft are unsourced" is appropriate reason to decline a draft at AfC. Per WP:AFCPURPOSE, "Articles that will probably survive a listing at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion should be accepted." The draft, when you reviewed it, already contained enough reliable sources to establish notability. I think it should have been accepted, with citation needed tags added to the statements that needed them. -- Paul_012 ( talk) 22:15, 28 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Thanks for reaching out Paul_012. I was under the impression that AfC was also responsible for ensuring that draft articles are able to meet verifiability requirements for mainspace articles prior to acceptance. For ex. in that draft, there was a large blockquote directly copied from an unknown source, and several paragraphs that were also entirely unsourced at the time of my review. Has there been consensus or a discussion about whether reviewers should or shouldn't decline in these situations? ~ Liance talk 22:20, 28 May 2024 (UTC) reply
I'm not a regular at AfC (I only check on pages that turn up on Inceptionbot's listings), so I'm afraid I can't answer your specific question. What I know comes from the written instructions, but it's possible that actual practice may have shifted (in which case either the instructions will need updating or the project will need to engage reviewers in some major re-orientation). WT:WikiProject Articles for creation might be the better place to ask. -- Paul_012 ( talk) 22:46, 28 May 2024 (UTC) reply
Alright. In any case thank you for the heads up. I'll look into it further. ~ Liance talk 22:51, 28 May 2024 (UTC) reply
