Prior Message About Soapboxing

Hey there LakesideMiners,

My name is Patrick. I'm inquiring about the Texas Blackland Prairies page. You reached out to me earlier today about removing one of my edits because it appears to be "soapboxing." I just wanted to clarify that we are a non-profit that have compiled data and further information from our scientists on around 800 ecoregion around the world. We see that other associations and non-profits such as the NPAT, and The Nature Conservatory--specifically on the "Texas Blackland Prairies" are adding external link to their sources and scientific information, as well as one of our partners, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

Is there a reason their links are still allowed and ours are not? I specifically linked to our "Texas Blackland Prairies" page while the others appear to be generic webpage links. Could you please clarify what I am doing wrong? Like I said, we are a non-profit, funded by private donation. We do not solicit nor ask for donation. We are just looking to educate and help people get involved in the fight for biodiversity protection.

Thank you for your time.

Best,

Hey. The Reason why is because you were adding them to a bunch of different pages in a way that looked like you were spamming it. By adding it to a bunch of different pages. just because it is under your project's scope. And, really, yeah, there are too many links in that section as well. Only notable sites should really be there. Thank You for your efforts in the Preservation efforts however. One of our sister sites is called https://www.wikivoyage.org. you might find much better luck their. LakesideMiners Come Talk To Me! 01:36, 3 February 2021 (UTC) reply
