First of all, let me extend you a hearty welcome here. And now starts the process of leaving a sour taste in your experience. :-P
This is not a how-to guide. As such, we do not provide a step-by-step guide how to fall into or avert a problem. Sure we provide code examples, but only to demonstrate syntax etc. Full source code is rarely used. As such, the code is best not kept, especially when it is easily summarized by saying that a member method pwns an extension method if they have the same name. I am not saying the problem should be buried but that the way you are presenting is not suitable for an encyclopedia.
Such detailed text-bookish procedure is best suited for WikiBooks. If you want, you can write an entire book there on extension methods detailing and providing code samples for each an every aspect or just the shadowing problem. When that is done, that article can be (and will be) linked to from here. -- soum talk 02:20, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
