Edits to my userpage
Can you explain this edit to my userpage? I prefer to keep the message bar at the top of mypage to help prevent vandalism to the page. But before I add it in, did you remove it because of a policy violation? If so, I won't add it in. Cheers, Spencer T♦ C 19:00, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

WP:HOAX says that it bars an "attempt to trick an audience into believing that something false is real". There's no way to check that a person's userpage has accurate information, and the policy only really refers to the article-space. See also:
Wikipedia:User page#What may I not have on my user page?. Though I suppose that page it isn't all encompassing, this type of thing isn't shown to be like any of the list items on there. Also, I find the bar makes vandals (who want to vandalize my page after I warn them) think they have messages again and return to their page. Just today, when the bar was gone, my page was vandalized 5 times. When the bar was there, however, there was only two vandalizing edits over the past month. I think it helps. Cheers,
