Just wanted to say "Good job". I think I have copies somewhere of the maps from Larry Lowenthal's book; I'll see if I can't knock together an upgraded map at some point. Choess 01:47, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Jim,
I am impressed at the maps you have made of the municipalities of NJ. I was wondering if you happen to have a map of Essex county with nothing highlighted. I would greatly appreciate it.
Please email me at matthew_rounds[at]cox.net when/if you read this.
Thanks!

Jim, excellent, informative and very user friendly maps of NJ.
I am writing because we are making a documentary about NJ this summer. We would like permission to use your maps in the film.
You can contact me at: nsjersey@yahoo.com and our website for the film is: http://nsjersey.blogspot.com
Thanks and hope to hear from you,
Steve

Hi Jim, you've made the best population maps I've ever seen. We also want to look at the population densities across different states. We've tried to use your individual state maps and join them together, but it proved to be difficult due to the different map ratio, orientation and so on. I wonder if you have population maps for big regions, such northeast and southeast US? Thanks! Sam. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Huangculex ( talk • contribs) 20:59, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
A series of new maps for all places in New Jersey is being uploaded and replacing previous maps, including many that you have created. I have left a note with User:Arkyan, the creator of these maps, to express my concerns, noting that your maps provide far more details and context, among other issues. I wanted to let you know what's going on and solicit your input on this situation. Alansohn 03:12, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
The image
Oregon population map.png is a candidate to be
copied to the
Wikimedia Commons. When you uploaded this image, you licensed it for use under the
GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). On behalf of the Wikipedia and Commons communities, thank you.
You also chose a license tag which adds disclaimers to the GFDL. As explained at Wikipedia:GFDL standardization, these disclaimers cause certain re-use problems that make the GFDL less free than it could be. Before I copy this image to the Commons, I wanted to ask whether you would be willing to remove the disclaimers from your GFDL tag. No one other than you may legally alter the license. If you do choose to modify the license on this image, I respectfully recommend any of the following best-practices license tags: You are under no obligation whatsoever to alter the license. Doing so merely cooperates with those members of the community who believe that disclaimers in individual media are undesirable. Wikipedia consensus still allows GFDL licenses with disclaimers, as does the Commons. Whether or not you choose to remove the disclaimers, thank you for your consideration. This message was placed using Template:License disclaimer notice. |

A tag has been placed on Image:Oregon population map.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Oregon population map.png|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact
one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.

File:Minnesota population mao.png is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Minnesota population map.png. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Minnesota population map.png]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. -- Erwin85Bot ( talk) 17:20, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
I agree with your standards of inclusion. If there aren't some, everyone just ends up inserting various and sundry non-notable folks. Granted, the list is relatively small now but over time I expect we'll see more 'high profile' insertions. Regards, MarmadukePercy ( talk) 20:51, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm wondering if you know how far this initially extended. A 1912 map shows unused right-of-way from the end of tracks at Hamburg Placs (on plate 51) up to Raymond Boulevard (on plate 54), but it also shows an unused bridge over the CNJ's Newark and New York Railroad. -- NE2 15:55, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Jim,
I am a researcher involved with ATV safety in Iowa, and was hoping to analyze whether population density affects crash factors using qGIS. You have the only updated map I could find (and a beauty at that). I was wondering if you would be able to use your pre-.png data in my analysis. Thanks much.

Thanks for setting up the tables for the ton-mile data I added to the CNJ and LV articles. I've got a bunch more RRs to add and I'll use your setup for some of them-- we'll see if I get it right. Tim Zukas ( talk) 23:44, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
I've been a big fan of the population density maps, both the 2000 and the 2010 set. I was wondering if you have a larger version of US_population_map.png available that you could send me? That would be absolutely incredible Harrison du Plessis ( talk) 23:14, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
I'd like your opinion on the fate of the "Geographic Location template" on the SC article that I'm revising. I'd like to get rid of it and assert it serves no real purpose. But, I want some opinions/feedback on the idea. Join the discussion, add your two cents, bring some friends at Talk:Sussex County, New Jersey. Thanks. ColonelHenry ( talk) 21:32, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
I am very impressed by your population density maps from the 2010 census. Do you plan to update your population density maps with data from the 2020 census? I would suggest using a more colorblind-friendly and preferably monochromatic scale like this one. Crossover1370 ( talk | contribs) 06:05, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
