Dasara

Thank you for adding information to the page Dasara. However, the festival is already described more fully at other pages, especially Vijayadashami and Navratri. Wikipedia tries to avoid having multiple pages about the same topic, and this is why the page Dasara was turned into an index page listing those two articles and others. This was agreed at the Hinduism-related topics notice board.

You can still obtain the text that you added from the page history. Feel free to add material to Vijayadashami and Navratri if any of it is needed there.

I hope this does not discourage you from contributing again. Happy Dasara! – Fayenatic (talk) 11:39, 5 October 2011 (UTC) reply

Hi, please explain in the edit summary what changes you are making in each edit, or use the talk page -- in this case Talk:Dasara. I did not think your last change was helpful, and I explained there why I put the page back how it was, but if you can explain your reasons, perhaps you may show me that I was wrong. I am not an expert on India, but I do try to take account of different editors' knowledge. – Fayenatic (talk) 20:21, 5 October 2011 (UTC) reply
Well done for finding the article Kullu Dussehra and incorporating this in the main article! I have now added a link to this back at Dasara.
Please also look for and provide citations from independent, reliable sources when adding material. Drop me a line if you would like me to help with formatting or anything else. – Fayenatic (talk) 18:14, 6 October 2011 (UTC) reply

A tag has been placed on File:Madhuca Longifolia Flower- Ippa Puvvu.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
