Speedy deletion of Judith Czelusniak
A tag has been placed on Judith Czelusniak requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Wikipedia's inclusion criterion is called WP:Notability and is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? See also WP:Notability (summary). For certain subjects there are more detailed guidelines including WP:NGYMNASTICS. Notability is not "inherited" by being associated with notable subjects.
A deletion discussion may be opened by any user, and runs normally for a week but may be extended to get additional views. Any user may comment, and give an opinion on whether the article should be kept or deleted; an uninvolved administrator closes the discussion and decides what to do, basing his decision not on a count of "votes" but on the arguments presented in terms of Wikipedia's policies.
At WP:Articles for deletion/Tanya Berenson you will see that there was unanimous agreement that Ms Berenson did not meet Wikipedia's (quite demanding) notability standard. If you disagree with that conclusion, your first step, quite correctly, was to approach me as the closing administrator, but I see nothing that would cause me to change my decision. If you wish, you may appeal at WP:Deletion review, but read WP:DRVPURPOSE first.
If you believe that you can provide references which meet the standard of WP:Notability (summary), I can "userfy" the article - move it into a sub-page in your user space for you to work on; but I advise you to think hard about notability first, in order to avoid wasting time and energy. The sort of references in the article were mentions in the context of things she had been associated with, rather than substantial content about her.
One suggestion made in the debate was that the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics may be sufficiently notable for an article, in which Ms Berenson could be mentioned.
A final word: I see that you are in the PR business. If Ms Berenson is your client, you should read the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and should be aware that Wikipedia is extremely resistant to being used for any kind of promotion.
