Thank you for your effort at contributing to Wikipedia, especially if you are a newcomer. The Wikipedia community owes its newcomers a lot, and continues to value this as per policy and per practice.

That said, the article you created at Alex crimmins seems to be erroneously placed, as it seems to consist of information you give about yourself. I have therefore moved it for you to your user space, which is the best location for a user's information about themselves in the first place.

Don't be upset; this is a common mistake.

If you really did mean to create an article about yourself, please be aware that this is often considered a bad idea, even if you do meet the guidelines for inclusion of biographies. Writing about yourself on Wikipedia can result in significant damage to your reputation, as it's a conflict of interest and widely considered to be an abuse of the project. As a technical note, an autobiographic article is usually eligible for deletion without further discussion under criterion A7 in the criteria for speedy deletion as an article about a real person that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject, or under criterion G11 in the same list, obvious advertising or promotion.

I know Wikipedia can be confusing for new editors, so you are welcome to ask for help at the Teahouse or on my talk page.

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Alex crimmins requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{ hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Metropolitan90 (talk) 04:37, 25 May 2010 (UTC) reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Alex crimmins, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{ hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. -- Metropolitan90 (talk) 04:47, 25 May 2010 (UTC) reply
