Thanks. I don't believe I would have come across your edits to James K. Polk. I probably came across some edits of yours in an article history and noticed that you hadn't been welcomed yet. However, it looks like you've been around awhile and probably don't need the introduction.
The message above isn't intended to specifically tell you about singing your posts so unless I left you a message about it on an article talk page I have no concerns there.
