Hi I dream of horses (so do I now and then, indeed just last night about wild horses I saw some years ago above the Spiral Jetty on the Great Salt Lake, now unfortunately bereft of water).
Anyway, glad to meet you. I'm trying to work out a long article, about 7,000 words with about 70 citations, not counting secondary lists such as References, Publications, External Links etc, by working in my Sandbox. I would like to keep all my work there as I make changes, preview etc. I have checked Watch this page and Permanent. I also set it up so I am permanently Logged In.
But if I shut down and then come back to my Sandbox, all is gone. I did not hit Publish page because I'm not ready for a full review.
So, how do I SAVE the material I'm working on? Or since my article is fully written and I'm just inserting citations and notes etc, should I be working on another Wikipedia site rather than Sandbox? Or should I try another outside site such as MediaWiki?
Any suggestions for working on this long article and SAVING my work as I go would be great.
Cheers! -- IBalancedAll ( talk) 19:49, 11 June 2022 (UTC)

Sorry for another question, but just wanted to check in with you again. One of the suggested pages to edit that just popped up for me was "Michels Corporation," which is an oil and gas pipeline company. Hi there. Thanks for your previous help. I have now submitted the draft and all seemed to go well. I added tags Biography Photography Museums Books and these now come up in my Talk page. But the Name of the Article, which I named Jonathan Green, after the article's subject, when typed into the "name of the article" box next to Move To Draft gives a variety of Warnings in the Draft Space which I do not understand. I tried changing the Name of the Article to make it more unique to Name and DOB "Jonathan Green (September 26, 1939)" and also tried "Jonathan Green Photography," where I believe it now stands, but the Warning were still there, and sound ominous: "This can be a drastic and unexpected change for a popular page; please be sure you understand the consequences of this before proceeding. Please read Wikipedia:Moving a page for more detailed instructions."
I read this, but it is not clear what I risk by doing this. I just want the article to be reviewed as it exists and hopefully to be accepted.
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks and Happy Horses! -- IBalancedAll ( talk) 02:21, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
Totally confused now: When I go back to my User page it now shows a Redirect page to User: Johnathon Green (photographer)
The first name is totally wrong. It is actually spelled "Jonathan." Two a's no h. And the category should not be (photographer) but rather (photography). This is an article about a person who was an academic in the field of photography and ran a Photography Museum.
If I click on Johnathon Green (photographer) it takes me to Draft:Johnathon Green (photographer), with the submitted material no longer in the Sandbox.
If I go to User page and click on Sandbox I am taken back to User:Johnathon Green (photographer)
The Please be Patient page indicates that I can continue to improve this submission by editing normally. But the entire article is missing from the Sandbox.
BUT it IS there in Edit source, in both source and preview, YEAH! So I guess I can work on it here if I want. Though I must say I am afraid to save it (Publish it) as who knows what new name it may be given and where I'll find it...
The first line of the article is: Jonathan Green (September 26, 1939) is an American writer, historian of photography, curator, teacher, museum administrator, photographer, filmmaker and the Founding Project Director of the Wexner Center for the Arts.[1] /info/en/?search=Wexner_Center_for_the_Arts \o Wexner Center for the Arts https://en.wikipedia.org/w
Here the HYPERLINK has another somewhat closer version of the name, "Jonathon Green" but it still uses "photographer", but I guess/hope these names are just a holding designation while the article undergoes review.
Should I be worried about anything besides world politics, and just assume these name mix-ups are par for the course and will get corrected in time? Should I now assume that the Edit Source will function as my Sandbox? If I make any further changes should I click PUBLISH without worrying that everything might disappear?
Sorry for my alarm. Looking forward to you reply. -- IBalancedAll ( talk) 07:01, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
Well this is confusing to say the least. Yesterday I could still get the text at my Talk, Edit Source. Now I just get a recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies! What is your suggestion how to be able to get the text back. And what happens to the review process now that @Dan arndt has moved the sandbox? Where is this new userspace and how do I get there? Since as you say he "mistakenly moved it to userspace", how do we correct this mistake and get the review back on track and allow me access to the text? (As you can see, I got through the markup language okay, but these procedures are beyond my knowledge.) Thanks for your help. -- IBalancedAll ( talk) 18:43, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
I'm not sure exactly how ARA works, but in this edit whatever corrections you were trying to make had the effect of duplicating the entire content of the article multiple times. I've seen this sort of thing before, though usually involving only one duplication of the content; and I've never been able to figure out why it happens. In any event, you may want to pay attention to the "bytes added" portion of your edits in page's histories so that you can notice when something wonky has occurred. Hello, I dream of horses. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, " Noel Francis Newsome".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted.
