Hi, please could you stop removing those links from Cyp's signature. I believe he is experimenting to see if the phrase will appear on Special:Wantedpages so he might not be too pleased if you remove them all! Thank you for understanding the VP's problem. Actually I also have lost active discussion about one article I was editing because someone archived it! yes it is annoying, but I didn't say anything because I knew the archiver had no other choice (VP was big). Now whenever I am about to initialise some big discussion which is of interest to the whole community, I start the discussion somewhere else (for example, a subpage of my userpage or some talk page) and I just put a link in VP (something like "those who are interested to discuss about this matter, visit this talk page"). We (all wikipedians) really need to find some solution to the VP problem soon: it suffers from overpopulation :( Optim 18:02, 31 Jan 2004 (UTC)

No, I mean the Wikipedia:Community Information Directory page and others like it that you are linking to. These pages might not stay, and if they do, their titles are not yet decided. It would be pointless to link to them all now and then have to change that again in a day or so. It would also be better to add the links slowly so watchlists are not rendered useless. I agree with you that the "N is also" lists in the number articles should be sorted by widest relevance, and I also think that relevance should be judged from a secular standpoint (since for me, for example, the bar mitzvah age is more important than the atomic number of aluminum). Therefore, I agree with you that Wikipedia should put aluminum ahead of bar mitzvah. But what I'm taking issue with is your suggestion in your edit summary that an edit war could start over this. It's current wikipedia policy to use inline tex markup as little as possible. If it's possible to render something in HTML without losing meaning, then this is preferred. If something really needs tex, then go ahead. But, this is rare. If something longer than a couple symbols really requires tex, then it's best to put it on a separate line. Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. When you proposed the "Stack of Books" logo at Wikisource you also recognized that the eventual winner would need to sign over his rights to the design to the Wikimedia Foundation. The matter has progressed to the point where it looks like we will be having a final vote between that and the stylized iceberg. Could you please indicate on your Wikisource user page that you are the designer of that proposed logo, and that you are willing to transfer all your rights under copyright and trademark law to the Wikimedia Foundation if it is finally chosen. Dear Happy—you may be interested in putting your name to, or at least commenting on this new push to get the developers to create a parallel syntax that separates autoformatting and linking functions. IMV, it would go a long way towards fixing the untidy blueing of trivial chronological items, and would probably calm the nastiness between the anti- and pro-linking factions in the project. The Wikimedia Foundation is currently running a consultation on the value and planning process of Wikimania, and is open until 18 January 2016. The goals are to (1) build a shared understanding of the value of Wikimania to help guide conference planning and evaluation, and (2) gather broad community input on what new form(s) Wikimania could take (starting in 2018).

Dear Happy—you may be interested in putting your name to, or at least commenting on this new push to get the developers to create a parallel syntax that separates autoformatting and linking functions. IMV, it would go a long way towards fixing the untidy blueing of trivial chronological items, and would probably calm the nastiness between the anti- and pro-linking factions in the project. The Wikimedia Foundation is currently running a consultation on the value and planning process of Wikimania, and is open until 18 January 2016. The goals are to (1) build a shared understanding of the value of Wikimania to help guide conference planning and evaluation, and (2) gather broad community input on what new form(s) Wikimania could take (starting in 2018).
After reviewing the consultation, we'd like to hear your feedback on on this survey.
In addition, feel free to share any personal experiences you have had at at a Wikimedia movement conference, including Wikimania. We plan to compile and share back outcomes from this consultation in February.
