I am a disabled U.S. Army Iraq combat veteran. On, October 31, 2010, I will be competing in the Marine Corps Marathon for The Christopher Reeve Spinal Cord Injury and Paralysis Foundation, using a hand-cycle. My efforts at this event supports Reeve’s vision of a paralysis-free world. The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy. Your tax deductible donation to the Reeve Foundation will have a significant impact in someone’s life who has a spinal cord injury or neurological disorder. I was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called, Transverse Myelitis, so I understand the battles these people face. Since I only have paralysis in my legs, I still have the ability to compete using a hand-cycle, and be an activist for those who do not have the capability.
