Notability of Mike Sholars

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Mike Sholars, by Burntsauce ( talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Mike Sholars seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Mike Sholars, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. -- Android Mouse Bot 2 20:44, 24 May 2007 (UTC) reply

Hi. I received your email request asking "Please Do Not edit my page again." First off, it is not your page. It's Wikipedia's page, and it must meet Wikipedia's standards. (For a page that's somewhat your own, you can use your user page, and for a page that's fully your own, I see you have discovered myspace and Yahoo.)

Somebody had requested that Mike Sholars page be speedily deleted. I felt it didn't meet the criteria for a speedy deletion, so I removed the notice. However, that article does not have reliable sources from which your fellow editors can verify the content. And any biographical article should meet our guideline on notability and our policy on biographies of living persons.

Finally, you should not be editing your own bio. You can see more about why in our conflict of interest policy, but the basic deal is that nobody here should edit pages that they have a strong personal connection to, as it's very hard to be objective.

I hope that helps, William Pietri 12:04, 25 May 2007 (UTC) reply
