Hi Filmguru! Sorry that your experience with Wikipedia has been hard so far. Wikipedia has stringent inclusion standards that are set out in WP:N, so your (?) film projects do not qualify. Please also review our conflict of interest policy and our policy on using multiple accounts. If you are interested in staying to contribute to other topics, please see our welcome page. Hello there! I read your comments and would like to respond. First, yes, I am certainly new here -- so thank you for your guidance. Second, while I do know the editor who edited/created some of these articles, I am not the same person (this is my only account). I was attempting to make the articles more encyclopedic, objective, and less "ad-sounding," since advertising is not the point of Wikipedia or the point of the articles! I believe that the Oxford International Film Festival does in theory meet the criterion for notability, but agree that there are not enough references listed in the article to make it so. I will post my findings on the relevant (let me know if it's not the right place, please) talk page, so that we/the users can come to a consensus. Thanks for your help! It looks as if the film festival may be notable after all (not so sure about the director or the company though). Hopefully this process will improve the articles. Hope you don't take offense that I believed you were the same person (it seemed as though there must have been at least some connection, judging by your similar editing habits). I don't think you moved the articles in the wrong direction at all. Posting on the talk page is good, but if you have references to add and other uncontroversial improvements, feel free to make those to the article page directly. Oh and I'm also sorry for calling you filmguru above - clearly I didn't read that message very carefully before copy-pasting it.... Calliopejen1 ( talk) 03:08, 12 November 2008 (UTC) reply
