Thanks to everyone's amazing efforts in February, we have reviewed all of the articles and are now finished with Sweeps! There are still about 30 articles currently on hold, and once those reviews are completed, I will send you a final message about Sweeps process stats including the total number of articles that were passed and failed. If you have one of these open reviews, be sure to update your count when the review is completed so I can compile the stats. You can except to receive your award for reviewing within the next week or two. Although the majority of the editors did not start Sweeps at the beginning in August 2007 (myself included), over 50 editors have all come together to complete a monumental task and improve many articles in the process. I commend you for sticking with this often challenging task and strengthening the integrity of the GA WikiProject as well as the GAs themselves. I invite you to take a break from reviewing (don't want you to burn out!) and then consider returning/starting to review GANs and/or contribute to GAR reviews. With your assistance, we can help bring the backlog down to a manageable level and help inspire more editors to improve articles to higher classes and consider reviewing themselves. Again, thank you for putting up with difficult reviews, unhappy editors, numerous spam messages from me, and taking the time to help with the process, I appreciate your efforts! --Happy editing! Hello,
It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months (though it's been actually 6 months since the last one) to keep our membership up-to-date.
All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on 1 April 2010, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Not much in the way of pre-release content. I found a preview, which gives minor details, and a mention in an 2003 E3 feature. Unfortunately, I think most of the stuff I remember was geared toward reception and legacy. I'll keep digging. ( Guyinblack25 talk 18:26, 27 March 2010 (UTC))

Wizardman, I would like to thank you for the efforts that you have made so far in this
GAN backlog elimination drive. It has been nothing short of a success, and that is thanks to you. See this
Signpost article about what this drive has achieved so far.
We're currently heading into the final week of the drive. At this time, if you have any GANs on review or on hold, you should be finishing off those reviews. Right now, we have more GANs on review or on hold than we do unreviewed. If you're going to start a GA review, please do so now so you can complete it by the end of the month and so that the nominator has a full 7-day window to address any concerns. See you at the finish! |

On behalf of my co-coordinator Wizardman, I'd like to especially thank you for your efforts over this past month's GAN backlog elimination drive. It has been nothing short of a complete success, which hopefully results in more expedient good article reviews, increasing users' confidence in the good article nomination processes. Even if you made just a small contribution, it still helped contribute to the success of this drive. Here is what we have accomplished this last month in this drive.
For those who have accomplished certain objectives in the drive, awards will be coming shortly. Again, thank you for your help in the drive, and I hope you continue to help review GA nominations and overall improve the quality of articles here on Wikipedia. |

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I'm even sorrier to inform you that the archive has nothing on Dragon Quest; the entire series falls between the cracks. Anything before Dragon Warrior VII is too early; the series stopped being released in North America between IV (1992) and VII (2001). I should be able to find reviews for VII, but the sources that would have reviewed it (Electronic Gaming Monthly, Official PlayStation Magazine, Game Informer) all had site makeovers during that time, so their reviews for it are not online. Anything past that is too new. However, despite the lack of stuff in the archive, I did manage to find something. GamePro, whose reviews, as far as I knew, have never been removed from their archives, deviated from their routine and took down their Dragon Warrior VII coverage from their newest site redesign. After a little sleuthing, I found a review, a hands-on, and another hands-on. Hopefully, that's better than nothing. It's all I can find; sorry. JimmyBlackwing ( talk) 02:00, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, well, it looks like web.archive.org doesn't archive the crazy database link formatting they were doing. It seems that billboard just changed their formatting- For example, see [2], which tells you that it hit number 11 on the week of July 31, 2004 and spent 25 weeks on the chart. Unfortunately for you, you can't see more than the top 10 songs on any given week on billboard.com, you have to be on billboard.biz instead, which in turn requires a subscription. So, you can cite that page to get the top position on the 4 charts it was on, as well as how long it was charted for, but you can't get the week-to-week movement that you have in the article without a subscription (which I don't have). So that's billboard- try searching around the site to see if you can refind some of the other information. The only non-billboard dead link you have looks like Vibe, and I can't seem to find the video that you're referencing on the site, so I think it was removed. Sorry! -- Pres N 15:21, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

I'm somewhat iffy. The template is supposed to go at the bottom of articles, just like {{ Featured article}}. This is because most people don't know what the template does, and it certainly is not easy to determine what it does if you don't already know since it changes an image in the corner of the page rather than inline with the text, so a lot of users remove the template. Gary King ( talk) 02:21, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I'd like to make this my next focus of attention seeing as time is running out, but unfortunately I won't be able to get to the internet reliably over the next week. Hi can you have a look at this? It's stalled YellowMonkey ( vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 02:47, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Hey, I noticed that you removed a GA nomination from the GAN page because there was "no GAN tag". I realise that drive-by nominations can be frustrating, and in this case it seems that the nominator only has 2 edits ever, so it's probably the right thing! However, I hope you wouldn't remove every nomination you come across that has no tag on the talkpage, thinking that it means the nominator isn't invested enough or something. Yes, they are simple instructions to follow, but people are human! I have forgotten to add the tag on more than one occasion, when I've nominated articles that I've put a lot of work into and have been waiting to make any changes necessary from a review. I've also noticed it on a few that I've reviewed, whose nominators had also put a lot into the article in question, and were waiting for it to be reviewed. Don't get me wrong, I think you did the right thing here, but I just hope "no GAN tag" isn't going to become a new "quick-fail" criterion! -- Beloved Freak 09:23, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

I don't make "music of" articles until a game has two albums out, as a general rule. FF14 has 2 singles and no albums out, so I'm holding off since in a regular article I would combine two singles and a regular album release into one section (the "original soundtrack" section). If/When SE releases a different album that would require a second section, like an arranged album or something, or even a release that is something other than a portion of the OSV, I'll make an article for it. In the meantime, any article that would have 1 section of release information stays in (or should stay in, I haven't looked at it) the game article itself. Given SE's current soundtrack release policy, we're probably talking months at most before they release some other album of music from the game, since they keep selling so much, but that's the policy I go by in creating these articles. Don't worry, I have no intention of my pet topic falling down; the article will most likely be at GAN within a week of creation and be added to the topic as a GA before the creation retention is up. The topic is my baby, I'm not going to screw it up. -- Pres N 09:12, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

I think much of what Teancum says can be resolved once Jimmy Blackwing (he better do it :P) copyedits it. If you feel reception's prose lacks "overall assessment on how critics felt," or something else, then write it. I personally do not like using scores from recent reviews on a game released 20 years ago. To me, its one thing to talk about how a game was perceived around the time of release, but its another to give a score based on "how it stands against the test of time". [5] However, I'm okay with a review table as long as the scores are labeled like 7.5/10 ( VC). « ₣M₣ » 22:29, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello,
It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months (though it's been actually 6 months since the last one) to keep our membership up-to-date.

First off, on behalf of myself and my co-coordinator

I think the development section is going to have to be partially rewritten to deal with possible unreliable refs, and I'm still not happy with the reception, but I suppose it could make GA. I've got final crunching the next month or so so I won't really be able to put in the hours needed on the article until after the first week of May.

While its obvious I (still) have no intention on working diligently on this anytime soon. If you're willing to bring it up higher on the quality scale, I could help out with minor stuff. « ₣M₣ » 16:50, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
