Welcome

Hi there

I noticed you've been hard at work. Thanks for your contributions, they do add to the value of Wikipedia. A point, though: Many of your contributions were phrased in the second person "you"; the language used was rather flowery and promotional. This is not desirable, for our encyclopedia should remain strictly neutral; having dispassionate descriptions.

Also, I notice all the articles you work on are related to NParks. If you are associated with NParks, you might want to disclose it on your user page, especially if you are doing this work in an official capacity.

From WP:Username:

... editing with a possible conflict of interest, such as editing an article about your employer, is not disallowed, but anyone wishing to do so is advised to first accumulate some editing experience in unrelated areas. Accounts that represent an entire group or company are not permitted; see Sharing accounts below.

Please let me know if there's anything I can help you with. -- Rifleman 82 ( talk) 06:18, 3 September 2008 (UTC) reply

A gentle reminder

Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, your recent edits or comments on Wikipedia, did not appear to conform with Wikipedia policies and guidelines:

  • Adding content without citing a reliable source, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Material that is unsourced or poorly sourced will be reverted or removed by other editors or administrators later. Read here for help on citing sources.
  • No edit summary: This is considered an important guideline. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you amend or delete any text; otherwise, people may question your motives for the edit i.e. likely vandals or trolls.
  • The tone or style of your edits is not appropriate for Wikipedia. Neutral point of view is one of the five pillars of Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.
  • Non compliance of Wikipedia Manual of Style: To display any new content as a listing, instead of adding them to the main text like you did recently, is not encouraged as a constructive content in Wikipedia. Not only does it degrade the quality of the article concerned, it may also jeopardise the status of some artilcles (e.g. Kent Ridge Park) that are rated as ' Good Articles' previously. Do understand and follow our MoS policy accordingly in order to contribute positively to our cause here.
  • Possible conflict of interest: If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, whereby an editor must forego advancing the aims of Wikipedia in order to advance outside interests, that editor stands in a conflict of interest according to your tone of edit and edit history to date. COI edits are strongly discouraged. When they cause disruption to the encyclopedia in the opinion of an uninvolved administrator, they may lead to accounts being blocked and embarrassment for the individuals and groups who were being promoted. See reported cases at COI Notice Board and the outcome of a previous COI case here.

Please stop, and consider the above guidelines if you want to contribute postitively to Wikipedia in the long run. If you feel very strongly that your edits are suitable for inclusion, bring it up at the article talk page for further discussion. Kindly note in order to avoid any unnecessary disputes and frustration later. Thank you. -- Aldwinteo ( talk) 09:37, 3 September 2008 (UTC) reply

Speedy deletion of Woodlands Town Garden

A tag has been placed on Woodlands Town Garden, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

spam

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{ hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Sebwite ( talk) 01:52, 15 September 2008 (UTC) reply

Hi, I'm busy with attachment so i didnt response at all. I'm new and using Wikipedia for the first time and i'm trying my best to follow the guidelines stated. And i'm editing all these pages due to my attachment. I'm asked by my supervisor to take on these tasks so I need to carry on with my work. Or would you be able to provide some help? This is my first time using Wikipedia and I have been asked to create and edit all these pages as i'm requested to do it. It's part of my attachment's scope. I'm having attachment at National Parks Headquarters. I have been unresponsive as i'm quite lost and quite afraid to ask. I apologised for this and I hope everyone could guide me along in editing or creating articles. As this is part of my attachment, i urgently need to have my work done. I have been told to create many new pages related to National Parks.

And to JavierMC and Sebwite, regarding the 2 parks for speedy deletion, those information are found on National Parks website as i'm told to get information for creating the articles so they are rather short. Please help me with it if you could.

Lastly, thank you to all!

Before you go on, you (and perhaps your employer) should look at WP:SPAM and WP:SPA, WP:COI, among a few, digest it, and come up with a plan to edit WP while taking these factors into account. I suggest you do that first, and come here to clarify your questions. -- Rifleman 82 ( talk) 09:26, 15 September 2008 (UTC) reply

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Garden City Fund, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Garden City Fund is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Garden City Fund, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Proposed deletion of Community In Bloom

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Community In Bloom, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable localised event.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also " What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{ dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
