Hi, Parthian Shot. I'm wondering what your objection is to al-Tabari's account of Babak riding to his execution on an elephant and why you say he was betrayed by al-Afshin when al-Afshin was the prominent Abbasid general who defeated Babak? Best Wishes Gallador 18:13, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Please note, that there are two importance assessments for each Africa Project tag: Africa Project importance and Country project importance. For instance: the Talk:Termit_Massif has a Low importance to Africa Project but High importance to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Niger These will likely be different: that is not only OK, it is helpful to the nation projects ability prioritise. Please don't blank out nation specific tags. There is more documentation at Template:AfricaProject Thanks much! T L Miles ( talk) 02:06, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi, in regard to giving African stock exchanges a low priority, please see Talk:New York Stock Exchange to compare how stock exchanges are currently rated on the Wikipedia. I would give them at least a mid rating. Cheers.-- Mr Accountable ( talk) 18:37, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi. I was wondering, if Ivan Van Sertima's father was actually named Frank Obermuller, then where did the surname "Van Sertima" come from? Yours, Rms125a@hotmail.com ( talk) 12:12, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
I created all of those articles as Dr. Blofeld so I obviously agree with you they are all notable. The reason why I redirected was lack of current info to expand them into fuller articles. All of them were generic stubs with nothing presented in them that wasn't already said on the main political party page. User:Everyking also agrees with this. If you want to write about anyone of the politicians and add more info than previously be all means restart the article. But there is no point in having 200 empty stubs. If you want to expand them then do so. Himalayan 18:59, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
Remember that as Dr. Blofeld I created thousands of stubs on African topics like Category:Mali subdivision templates communes of Mali, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Mauritania etc. Districts of Central African Republic, airports etc because I believe they can be expanded. I also made many flickr agreements to illustrate places like Parakou in Benin, Togo i etc and started loads of articles like Zangbeto. So I do believe in expanding our coverage of African but when the info that currently is available on the web is zlich and cannot be expanded in the current situation they are pointless at present if they contain no real info. Hi there. I notice that you have done quite a bit of assessments on African articles. I have recently cleaned up WikiProject South Africa and can do with some help assessing the High-Importance articles that are currently unassessed. If you have the time and is interested, you can find a list of the articles here. -- NJR_ZA ( talk) 20:26, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Greetings Gallador-
My name is Randall Livingstone, and I am a doctoral student at the University of Oregon, studying digital media and online community. I am posting to invite you to participate in my research study exploring the work of Wikipedia editors who are members of WikiProject: Countering Systemic Bias. The online survey should take 20 to 25 minutes to complete and can be found here:
https://oregon.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_cSHzuwaQovaZ6ss
Your responses will help online communication researchers like me to better understand the collaborations, challenges, and purposeful work of Wikipedia editors like you. In addition, at the end of the survey you will have the opportunity to express your interest in a follow-up online interview with the researcher.
This research project has been reviewed and approved by the Wikimedia Research Committee as well as the Office for Protection of Human Subjects at the University of Oregon. For a detailed description of the project, please visit its Meta page. This survey is voluntary, and your confidentiality will be protected. You will have the choice of using your Wikipedia User Name during the research or creating a unique pseudonym. You may skip any question you choose, and you may withdraw at any time. By completing the survey, you are providing consent to participate in the research.
If you have any questions about the study, please contact me via my Talk Page (UOJComm) or via email. My faculty advisor is Dr. Ryan Light. If you have any questions regarding your rights as a research participant, please contact the Office for Protection of Human Subjects at the University of Oregon.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Randall Livingstone School of Journalism & Communication University of Oregon UOJComm ( talk) 03:58, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current
Arbitration Committee election. The
Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia
arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose
site bans,
topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The
arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to
review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on
the voting page. For the Election committee,

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing, whether it's a river in Malawi, a Nigerian footballer, or a South African civil rights activist, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. For those of you who signed up to the North African contest, that will hopefully be held in the new year. Thanks. -- MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 21:11, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
