User:Foodman11NewName – I created the Farmhouse Foods page as a stub, in hopes that Wikipedia will recognize our brand. We are a side-dish product (similar to Rice-A-Roni) and are carried in thousands of grocery stores across the country. We aren't trying to rename the page, simply trying to move it. We'd really appreciate your recognition of our brand! Thank you!

It would probably be better to wait for your product become notable and have an independent editor write it than write it yourself. My concern is that the page, wherever you started it, is probably blatantly promotional. Wikipedia is not a soapbox or tool for promotion. C.Fred ( talk) 22:44, 6 September 2011 (UTC) reply
…And looking at User:Foodman11/Farmhouse Foods, that page is blatantly promotional. It is subject to speedy deletion under criterion G11, blatant advertising. — C.Fred ( talk) 22:46, 6 September 2011 (UTC) reply
The intention was to provide background information on the brand. I will edit it now to assuage the concerns of spamming. That was not the intention

User:Foodman11NewName – Hi C. Fred, I've completely reworked the Farmhouse Foods page and simply given basic information about the brand. I understand now what the problem was with the previous post.

The article in that state would be speedy deleted under criterion A7, an article about a company that does not assert its significance or importance. Existing for 100 years is not sufficient to make it a notable company. You'll need to provide secondary sources that have covered the company to be able to back up a claim that it's notable, especially since you have a conflict of interest. — C.Fred ( talk) 23:08, 6 September 2011 (UTC) reply
We are not in the newspaper, but we are a certified women owned business

per the National Women's Business Enterprise organization. Is this certificate any help? We also are listed as a D & B company, Duns number is 78-501-7919. Also, a competitor of ours, Annie's Homegrown, has a very similar page and their page has been accepted.

Their article hasn't been accepted per se; it's just that nobody has objected to it. Other stuff exists. Just because Annie's has an article does not mean that your company should, nor would the deletion of the Annie's article disqualify Farmhouse from having an article. — C.Fred ( talk) 23:28, 6 September 2011 (UTC) reply
FWIW, the assertion of significance for Annie's Homegrown is that their mac and cheese is the second best selling such product in the US. Yes, I just added that to the article, based on the profile of the company in Funding Universe. That article should be improved with more sources, but it's not a candidate for deletion. — C.Fred ( talk) 23:31, 6 September 2011 (UTC) reply
