While this was sometime ago I am curious as to why you deleted the "Scapegoat_(band)" article. 69.247.77.67 21:48, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Hello Fang Aili. I wanted to request a reason why you deleted my submission [colonies.com network]? I have provided factual information. Is there anything that I am missing that I need to add? Thanks for you help as I am new to Wikipedia.

Madam, Thank you for your quick and sane response to my question concerning my deleted article wikiphobia. I've read through the articles on Wikipedia concerning what doesn't belong on Wikipedia, and reasons most articles are deleted.
Still, I feel the subject meets the guidelines for wikipedia articles. Your own page links to a wikipedia article for the internet slang term real life, and that wikipedia article has links multiple other articles written on slang terms such as meatspace and other frivilous internet slang terms. Should other responsible Wikipedia contributors delete these articles?
wikiphobia is a widely used term (just google it to see) and I believes it deserves coverage.
Please reconsider my article--inall fairness.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrishibbard7 ( talk • contribs)

What exactly makes you think this page is/was advertising? And in which sense it is significantly different from pages like Barracuda Networks? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Uniwares ( talk • contribs)
Fang,
You recently deleted my page for Voyager Edge. It was created to add additional information to the topic "mobile agent". On that page you see a reference to Aglets. We provide the same (and more) functionality as Aglets and feel people interested in "mobile agent" will want to know about all the platforms that provide this functionality. Is it more appropriate to put an external link on the "mobile agent" page? Since Aglets and Voyager Edge have existed for the same amount of time, what allows one reference and not another?

Thank you for fixing the page I created for Zhang Zhenwang to reflect the proper structure for Chinese names. I have fixed all links to his page, as well as the page I created for Liu Kai. One of these erronious links was on the page for the Chinese national baseball team, which makes me curious/concerned that all of the names on that page are incorrect...but I have no way of knowing as I have no experience with Chinese names, and no one with expertise has caught on... thoughts? Fang,
Why did you delete my article 'Datalantic'? It can't be advertising, the company is defunct. The company did, however, play a significant role in the creation of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. There are many other potentially self serving references in the Vietman Veterans Memorial Wall article but Datalantic isn't even mentioned.

Talk:GENRE ONLINE.NET From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search WriterR5 14:35, 29 June 2007 (UTC)WriterR5WriterR5 14:35, 29 June 2007 (UTC)GENRE ONLINE.NET has been cited on Wikipedia as a resource for films Wikipedia has noted and used review content in the citations such as is the case for The Juniper Tree where it specifically states under external links - Review by Mark A. Rivera at Genreonline.net. Other examples that show the site as being a source of reference used by Wikipedia include the 2004 miniseries remake of Salems Lot, where the link at the bottom simply states "Another review with pictures", my interview with George A. Romero is specifically on the top line under references on Wikipedia and cited as so " ^ http://www.genreonline.net/GENRE_ONLINE_Interview_George_Romero.html" Also Carvan Of Courage: An Ewok Adventure and Ewoks:The Battle For Endor both use my review at GENRE ONLINE.NET as external link references under the heading "A review of the DVD" for both of them.
If my work is worthy of being referenced as a top line reference as is the case with the heading under George A. Romero or the External Link references like The Juniper Tree, the remake of Salems Lot and the two Ewok films then why would not the site itself be worthy of an entry on Wikipedia since it is a resource cited six times already, is a site that has been around for nearly eight years, and there is nothing I wrote that I consider to be SPAM. In fact other websites like The Digital Bits have citations on Wikipedia with the Editor's name Bill Hunt and no one calls that SPAM. If I wanted to inflate my feathers I could go on about my NY Times Interview or list every famous person I've interviewed personally for the website.
There is nothing that I have wrote that is dishonest, self promoting, or cannot be backed up under direct examination. If there is a rewrite suggested to make it more in line with Wikipedia's style, please advice me and I will make the changes or anyone who sees fit among the Wikipedia staff and Editors, etc can change it on the site. I feel that after eight years and actual references made by Wikipedia itself as well as my own honesty and directness in my posting, GENRE ONLINE.NET should be allowed to remain online at Wikipedia the same way The Digital Bits and other sites noted are. Thank you.

I created a brief summary before coming back to edit the listing to provide information about the hotel for guests at my upcoming wedding there. No particular reason for putting it there, but thought it would be nice to have a wikipedia listing. I also think that given there are listings allowed for Hilton Hotels, Marriot hotels and the Europa Hotel in Belfast to name but a few, I think it is highly unfair that this one has been removed.

"Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism..."
Dear Fang Aili, I appreciate what you and your colleges are doing. Wikipedia is indeed an extremely valuable asset to everyone from the striving college student to the highest CEO of a major company. I believe that the information found on Wikipedia, due to its easy access needs to be not only factual (thanks to you and others like you it is of the highest standard, despite the popular opinion of the public that it is not), but also very abundant and diverse. Wall Burglar, the article in question, is a very regional subject, and not much information, if any would be found on the internet via Google search. I can certainly see where you are coming from considering it vandalism, and this is a true testimony to the fine filter of the dedicated Wikipedians such as yourself, unfortunately Wall Burglar is a special case that must be reconsidered. Please, if you consider it appropriate could you bring back this special article, it would mean the world to not only me but the entire community of the small town of Ola, South Dakota. Wall Burglar is a very special part of our city. Thanks again for all you do for this wonderful project of Wikipedia Sincerely, Sasquatchjr., and the entire community of Ola
I understand what Stemonitis is getting at with regards to his questioning what should be disambiguated. However, I whole heartedly dispute his claim that the game Angband is more relevant in current usage than the place named in Tolkien's work. Although no one else from the game article camp seems to be weighing in on the debate, it would seem that a poll may be needed to reach an agreement. Yes, I realize that in the scope of things, that this is completely a matter of minutiae, but to those of us who have spent the majority of their life (which is, in my case, about 28 of 35 years) reading, researching and studying Tolkien's work as well as the analysis and criticism thereof, I find the issue quite irritating and borderline offensive. The game in question isn't even a game licensed for sale from what I can tell. It's a low-fi game done by someone with a basic knowledge of how to code, on par with what someone might create for a 100-level college computer programming class final project. I'd be surprised to find that any permission was even asked for (or granted) by Tolkien's estate to use the name Angband for the game. And there is a debate on its importance/relevance on Wikipedia? Not to mention versus one of the greatest writers of the 20th century? Ryecatcher773 18:12, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Of course you were clear. I'm just trying to solidify alliances in what might be a futile battle, and you seem to be the top ranking officer. It is, of course, my full intention to add to the Angband article, and the Wikiproject Middle Earth overall. Time can be an issue for me, as I have a young son to look after while his mom is away at work (and I work opposite hours!) so it will be slow going. I've already tried to clean up some minor articles (Orcrist being the most extensive so far) and I've already weighed in on some other debates, most notably: what the Men of Gondor should be called (Gondorians? Gondoreans? Men of Gondor?) I'll be here though. If you need any help, I have (besides all of his major works, as well as some of the minor writings), a small library of Tolkien criticism and a fair amount of books on Anglo Saxon language and literature as well.
PS: Read the Children of Hurin as soon as you get the chance! It's amazing. Reminds me of something Homer might have written had he lived in Northern Europe instead of the Hellenic states. Ryecatcher773 20:24, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Not sure why you removed the Handango article. Please explain. Handango falls within Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) and is subject to a great deal of Secondary sources. Hello Fang,
My name is Dan and I work for a local newspaper. I recently heard about a company in Toronto called I Love Rewards. They have been making some news lately and appear to be doing some interesting things. I began entering an article on them and noticed that it was deleted rather quickly.
When you can, could you please let me know what I did wrong in creating the article that caused it to be deleted? Also, any advice you could give to prevent this from happening again would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Dan
Dear Fang Aili
my first try to get an article into Wiki and you delete it as fast as i put it in. I hope that it was an automatic delete process as you could not have read and reviewed in that time. I presume that I must have upset some protocol. I have created a website for Glen Onwin a highly respected and well known Artist(within the UK art circles). Should you wish to see his web it is http://www.onwin.co.uk. When drafting my submission I looked and followed the format of such other artists as Anthony Gormley, Richard Long and Damien Hirst amongst others. And thought that I had got the format right.
Should I had crossed the system Advice in simple on technical computer terms would be appreciated.
Steve
Thanks for prompt reply I thought I had replied but cannot see it so here goes again ( I told you I was new to this) What I though I had said was that all the work is by Glen and I and when submitting I thought I had ticked a box that said there were no copyright issues. As I see it it is an edit from his website, that I created for him, and therefore it is already in the public domain. Steve
Dear Fang Aili,
I've recently created a Wikipedia account and began editing and creating articles on Australian independent musicians. You have left messages regarding The Bedridden and Pearly Black and have said that they may shortly be removed. I have read the guidelines and I am not sure what you are referring to regarding non-conformity. Can you please tell me so that I can make necessary changes?
In addition, you refer to these pages as "pages that [I] have created" when I simply expanded on the page for The Bedridden which, to my knowledge, had been there for a considerable time. In "being bold", have I ruined the page? So far, this is not a particularly pleasant experience - my hard work is disappearing.
Deep Lee 19:14, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Dear Fang Aili,
How do I get the pages back to add the notability criteria? The difficulty with independent bands is that they don't publish records on major labels and don't always enter into mainstream measures.
That said, Baterz (who was one the creative forces in The Bedridden) had an half-hour tribute on Australia's National youth radio network (JJJ) when he died and even more coverage in Adelaide (a major Australian city). Kirsty Stegwazi, another member of the Bedridden is another important solo artist, having played support for Ben Harper, Cat Power, Sean Lennon and others. I'm sure this satisfies the criteria. I didn't think I had to add this information since the band already had a page.
Pearly is also notable. There isn't a lot of material on the internet regarding her main band, Madam Bones Brothel, because they were playing independent gigs before the internet was popular. When JJJ (again, the national youth radio network) launched in Brisbane (an Australian capital city of more than a million people), her band played live to air. Her main collaborator, John Rodgers, is an internationally-recognised composer. There were a lot of citations in this article and I believed that notability was established within. I can, however, add more if it is required.
I just need to get the articles back. I plan on adding more articles about Australian bands and musicians. But it needs to be easier than this.

Hi, I would like to clarify something, its about the WP:ADMINCOACH. To start off, I have been in Esperanza for about a few months since last year. I then signed up for the Admin Coaching and snaked my way up the 40++ list of users at that time, up to number 12. I waited for about 3-4 months for a coach, contacted 3 coaches and got turned down, and now they so happily put me in the not active list. I now have to put my name in at the bottom of another 40 users, and God knows when I'll get my coach. Although I am rather taken aback by that, I have decided to make life easier for the coachees and coachers by signing up to become a coach myself. However, is there any requirements to become one? Number of edits etc, etc? Thanks in advance! Cheers!!!! -- Zachary crimsonwolf 14:18, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

The article given as reference to the claim that her surname is of Venetian heritage makes no such suggestion. However, the word "Furlan" is the Friulian adjective for...Friulian, as was indicated on the Wikipedia page Furlan. Therefore, absent any other reference, I don't see why her page should state that her surname is of Venetian (rather than Friulian) heritage). -- Alanmjohnson (logged as 76.175.153.96 ( talk · contribs)
Well, I basically agree. In light of the fact that her paternal grandfather is Slovenian, the odds are remote that her name is not of Friulian origin. However, in the absence of an explicit, verifiable statement, making that claim in Wikipedia does constitute original research. -- Alanmjohnson
