Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Signal boxes that are listed buildings in England, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages River Ouse and North Eastern Railway ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The permissions statement was sent in to us in October. For reasons I do not understand , it was closed with a notation that it had already been handled. I think it is as simple as an oversight. I reviewed the permission statement and it looks fine, so I added the OTRS permission template to the image.-- SPhilbrick (Talk) 14:53, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
Good news, I tracked down the permission for File:Bogside.jpg. The name of the file uploaded was stirling dunf5.jpg, which doesn't fully explain why it wasn't handled, but it now is. Looking into others.-- SPhilbrick (Talk) 17:05, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
This was one mostly my fault. I don't know whether you care about the details, but the editor works with a number of copyright owners. The copyright owners send in permission statements, naturally referring to the names of the images they assigned. They do not upload the images. The editor uploads, and naturally uses image names which make more sense in Wikipedia. This can lead to challenges, as in this case when I received a permission statement for a file called 2026 62467 Largo 1.7.58 and didn't know how to connect that with the Wikipedia/Commons file name. It was originally sent to us 16 months ago, I've learned more about how to find files, so think I can handle such situations now.-- SPhilbrick (Talk) 17:31, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
We did not have permission on file for these two, or at least not permission I could find, but I wrote to the copyright holder, and permission has now been filed.

I did not find anything in OTRS with that name. I did poke around and found that name on some photos at this site.
I've attempted contact, as of now, haven't heard back.-- SPhilbrick (Talk) 12:21, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
As a part of my discussions with one of the copyright holders, he also supplied this photo:

My concern wasn't with the inflation calculation, but with the wording "today" which gives no context to readers about when the figure is correct to and no indication to editors that the article will need updating in the future. Thryduulf ( talk) 07:41, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Just a quick note to congratulate you on the promotion of Great North of Scotland Railway to FA status recently. If you would like to see this (or any other FA you may have helped to write) appear as "Today's featured article" soon, please nominate it at the requests page; if you'd like to see an FA on a particular date in the next year or so, please add it to the "pending" list. In the absence of a request, the article may end up being picked at any time (although with 1,335 articles in Category:Featured articles that have not appeared on the main page at present, there's no telling how long – or short! – the wait might be). If you'd got any TFA-related questions or problems, please let me know. Bencherlite Talk 10:13, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi Edgepedia, my apologies for the editing. I was attempting to edit the page once, however I received repeated errors from my browser which prompted me to continue clicking "save" several times. Little did I realise that it was in fact updating each time. I have posted my thoughts on the talk page and reverted the page pending discussion. Good day. Hello, I noticed that you just reverted my edit which showed the syntax for the template pronunciation needed. I realize that I may not have included the syntax in the ideal layout, however I do think it should be restored to the article in some fashion or another. The reason I feel it is necessary is because I myself spent a long time trying to figure out what the syntax is when I needed the template for another article, and had to go to edit the article to figure out what the syntax was. Please let me know your thoughts on this matter — Preceding unsigned comment added by GrassHopHer ( talk • contribs) 15:52, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you so much for using VisualEditor. Having editors use it is the best way for the Wikimedia Foundation to develop it into the best tool it can be.
While we always welcome general feedback (please report any issues in Bugzilla in the "VisualEditor" product or drop your feedback on the central feedback page on MediaWiki.org), the developers are especially interested right now in feedback on the special character inserter. This new tool is used for inserting special characters (including symbols like ₥, IPA pronunciation symbols, mathematics symbols, and characters with diacritics). It is intended to help people whose computers do not have good character inserters. For example, many Mac users prefer to use the extensive "Special Characters…" tool present at the bottom of the Edit menu in all applications or to learn the keyboard shortcuts for characters like ñ and ü.
The current version of the special characters tool in VisualEditor is very simple and very basic. It will be getting a lot of work in the coming weeks and months. It does not contain very many character sets at this time. (The specific character sets can be customized at each Wikipedia, so that each project could have a local version with the characters it wants.) But the developers want your ideas at this early stage about ways that the overall concept could be improved. I would appreciate your input on this question, so please try out the character inserter and tell me what changes to the design would (or would not!) best work for you.
Issues you might consider:
The developers are open to any thoughts on how the special character inserter can best be developed, even if this requires significant changes.
Please leave your views on the MediaWiki feedback page (your regular username/password works there), or, if you'd prefer, you can contact me directly on my talk page. It would be really helpful if you can tell me how frequently you need to use special characters in your typical editing and what languages are important to you.
Thank you again for your work with VisualEditor and for any feedback you can provide. I really do appreciate it. Whatamidoing (WMF) ( talk) 23:43, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Dear Edgepedia,
On 13 april I replaced conversion templates by RailGauge templates and yes, by mistake, I also replaced two templates not concerning railgauge (as the converted non-gauge values were equal to specific rail gauges).
During my partial revert I left the two non-gauge conversions intact. Is there a reason for not applying railgauge templates to this article, contrary to other railway-related topics?-- Aaron-Tripel ( talk) 13:38, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
