Hey, thanks for contributing Michael Conway Baker! Melchoir 18:56, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
There's a lot to learn, and I wouldn't worry about the occasional screw up (to be honest, when I first moved the page to the correct capitalization, I actually messed up and had to move it again.) Your questions:

On a few recent edits, I was logged out without knowing - I've had some internet irregularities. As a result, my edits were logged by IP. I am assuming that there is absolutely no way to correct that after the fact, but I had to ask anyhow. Cam Finnigan 15:34, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
{{helpme}} I have two images that I want to add to a bio that I added a month or so back. The images are both older than 40 years and the photographer is presumably unknown. It is my understanding that the local club whose archives hold the original images will not have an issue with their use. I have approached them to verify their status and expect to get a reply. What exactly do I need from them? I have read that "images which are for non-commercial only use and by permission only are not acceptable for Wikipedia". How exactly do we differentiate these from public for such old works?-- Cam Finnigan 14:23, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Hello, this is a message from
an automated bot. A tag has been placed on
Marc Destrubé, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be
speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because
Marc Destrubé seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the
criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please
see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting
Marc Destrubé, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at

I want to add Take Five (CBC) to the Take Five disambiguation, add the entry, but have it redirect to the Here's to You page. A bit of guidance would probably help me actually make this possible. There are several references to Take Five that could point to the redirect - Shelagh Rogers, for example.

Great. Thanks for jumping in and taking care of that. The only problem is that this is actually a radio program on CBC Radio Two, not a TV show. I fixed the text in the disambiguation but I'm not sure about renaming the target page Take Five (TV Show). I've never handled redirects, so it's not clear to me whether my actions might actually rename the Here's to You page, and of course I don't want to mess things up. I'll wait until the dust settles on this before I go off and add any links for Take Five.

Sorry, I've been away for a few years. Forgive me if I make any errors. Out of practice. I was looking at the biography for the Canadian journalist Vassy Kapelos and noticed that her age is posted as age 42 even though her stated birth date is May 6, 1981. To me, it looks as though it should be 43 since it's now May 18 and you just subtract the years. I've always assumed this is taken care of by a template so it's automatically updated. I had a look at the markup and couldn't make sense of it as it's too advanced, so left it alone. I don't see '42' entered manually, so I'm guessing it's auto-generated. I'd like to understand this and fix it if it's within my scope once I have guidance. Otherwise, I'll leave it for the experts. Thanks! DohCam ( talk) 02:47, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
