Information icon Hello, I'm NJZombie. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, The Cure, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. As explained in the edit summaries, your addition of guest membership within this article, as well as the Perry Bamonte article, is not supported by the existing source. You could be totally correct. That's not the issue. However, the burden is on you to find a source that backs that up. You can't just add it into the article without something to support the statement. Claiming the band needs to make the statement is totally incorrect as Wikipedia needs a third party source for sourcing, not the band's statement. NJZombie ( talk) 20:33, 9 October 2022 (UTC) reply

I am in contact with the band as I run a fan forum and regularly chat with members whose privacy I will respect, which is why they talk to me. Your third party source (NME) has cited no official confirmation of Perry's rejoining of the band. In fact, nobody has. He is guesting on the tour & is not back as a member of the band. If you would like this wiki to be accurate then I would recommend leaving the wording like that. If you prefer to have the music press hacks who have no idea and are simply making assumptions, then have at it.
My proposal is that Perry be cited as just a guest performer for the lost world shows & not as a member of The Cure. If Robert suddenly states otherwise, then go ahead & add the edit. But he won't. Be certain of that.
Does that work for you? Cureboi ( talk) 20:52, 9 October 2022 (UTC) reply
No, it does not work for me. Wikipedia has guidelines and that's what we follow. Additionally, you have now openly disclosed a conflict of interest and should refer to the following warning concerning such.

Okay then. Conflict of interest? LOL. I'm not employed by anybody. I just want to keep the page accurate and free from speculation. Hardly a conflict. You have absolutely no actual evidence that Perry has rejoined the band other than a music press report he stepped onstage with them for a couple of concerts. I tried to suggest a compromise to the wiki wording to make it factual & you hurl that at me. I tried to seek consensus with you, but you don't seem to be terribly into that. Employment is not required. A relationship is what defines conflict of interest and you stated that you communicate directly with band members. That's a relationship. NJZombie ( talk) 21:20, 9 October 2022 (UTC) reply
