Hello, Cognigent, and welcome to Wikipedia! I see that you have recently joined the encyclopedia and have already made several contributions! It is great to see attention being paid to Baha'i topics so that this information can be reflected more fully for our readers. Thanks for your efforts.
I wanted to mention one of Wikipedia's main guidelines, which you may have already encountered, which is the reliable sources guideline. You will surely hear this mentioned many times as you edit, and it is good to read it over. It can be found here: WP:RS. There are many aspects to it and don't let small details of it prevent you from editing—you will learn as you go. That said, I did want to note that in general, it is not ideal to source article content directly to religious scriptures, which are primary sources. It is better to have a secondary source such as an academic book or article that provides an overview of the content of these scriptures. See in particular the section of the reliable sources guideline called "Primary, secondary, and tertiary sources" for more information. Peter Smith is a great example of an author who writes good sources on Baha'i topics, and no doubt you can find more by searching.
Anyway, I know that Wikipedia's guidelines are complicated at first but I hope you will stick around and keep contributing. Let me mention just one more: Be bold! That is, go ahead and make improvements and learn as you go. If you have any questions you can post on my talk page or ask another editor. Best, Gazelle55 ( talk) 00:53, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
Hi Cognigent! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at
Shaykhism that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as
typo corrections or reverting obvious
vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see
Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.
