Hello Chris, welcome to Wikipedia.
Normally when welcoming people I'd point them towards all sorts of links on how to edit pages, policies, etc, but you seem to be pretty au fais (sp?) with that already.
Having an interest in editing, have you come across {{msg:Opentask}} yet? this expands out to:

By the way, I love the idea of having a stub message on your user page - if I knew anything about you, I'd happily expand it! Again, welcome! -- ALargeElk 10:30, 24 May 2004 (UTC)
Hello. :-) Tenbaset 07:18, Jun 10, 2004 (UTC)
Thanks to User:ALargeElk for the welcome and to Shannon for the greeting! I've been doing little bits of editing on shortish articles, mostly because I haven't yet found the time to read through longer ones, but I look forward to showing the world just how fastidious I can be…yep, you heard it here first. :-) — cky 12:42, 2004 Jun 10 (UTC)

You are invited to Auckland Meetup 5 on the afternoon of Sunday 9th May 2010 at Esquires Cafe, Ground Floor, Auckland Central City Library, Lorne St, Auckland. Please see Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland 5 for details. You can also bookmark Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland to be informed of future NZ meetups. - Linnah ( talk) 01:04, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.
Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede 66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
